I have been meaning to post this forever but my online presence is very poor atm lol
anyway just posting for advice really….

I’m going to be made redundant on December along with 300 other staff as company is losing money and they want to restructure…
and also just found out I’m pregnant a month after they told us this in May, in all honesty I’m happy to go redundant as I was planning to go freelance to have more time with my 3 yo anyway but
the thing is in one of their terms it says if they find you a suitable role then you have to accept it or risk losing out on redundancy pay.
also if you’re on mat leave you’re automatically protected and will be priority for future roles.

I’ve already signed up for the Voluntary redundancy so hopefully I won’t be in their pool for the remaining/future roles.
Now I’m one of the experienced staff as I have been there for awhile also :/

has anyone been through this? When do I tell them I’m pregnant? At times I really cba to work too tired.. but scared I will lose out on redundancy pay if I told them too soon.

would I also get my mat pay? I remeber them saying something about giving you that as lump sump but never mentioned if it was on top of redundancy pay? I also don’t want to ask them questions in my one to one consultation otherwise they will pick up on my pregnancy and tell me no redundancy for you lol

Slightly different but my DH is being made redundant end of the month and my qualifying week was before the date of redundancy & he qualified for his paternity & it gets added to his lump sum, therefore your maternity will be included in any potential redundancy pay out should you meet the criteria.

are there any group consultations? Is there a trusted representative that could ask questions on your behalf or find out how many voluntary applications there are compared to how many they need? Might help you prepare more
