Clexane - Any tips

I’m over the moon to be pregnant after a tough few years of loss / secondary infertility.

After a lot of investigations coming up with a few borderline potential issues but nothing concrete, my private fertility specialist recommend clexane as a ‘just in case’ due to my history

I’m 3 days in and I’m both worried I’m doing it wrong as my only guide has been YouTube videos and also can’t work out why sometimes it doesn’t hurt and sometimes it does. Is it something you get used to? I’m really having to psyche myself up each day.

Needle needs to be positioned so the bevel (pointy bit) is at the bottom. I’ve tried to attach a photo and it won’t let me, just google and you will find examples of what I mean. Pinch an inch (if you have it!) Inject slowly. The bubble is meant to be left in, it helps you get the right dose. Avoid the line running below your belly button, there’s a blood vessel there. Not dangerous if you hit it but you will get the most spectacular bruise. I always used the fleshy bits of my tummy. Thighs hurt too much. I never bothered with ice, that hurt as much as the injection. It gets easier the further along you get, you just get desensitised and crack on. 2 successful pregnancies thanks to blood thinners. Good luck x

I used it the whole pregnancy, I ice the area first. Then, I pinch my belly fat, on the same level as the navel but far from the navel and put the injection. Put the ice pack again. Most of the time is good but still sometimes get the bruises, you'll get used to it.

It's impossible to do it tonight at the same time every day.

If you've had unexplained losses probably you could benefit from low dose steroids.. I also had MC's before my rainbow baby and after many specialists and tests/procedures some immune issues were found and steroids really helped.
