32 weeks unorganised house

As the title suggests… 32 weeks and I just feel totally unorganised. I have baby’s clothes, everything that’s needed for the baby but the house just doesn’t feel ready. I feel like I should have re decorated and had everything freshly done before she gets here. Is this a normal feeling to have?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

This feeling is called nesting and totally normal!

I repainted the whole house and deep cleaned everything when I was pregnant with dd1.
Then I came home and was like huh, well that was a waste of my time.
Didn't do a thing house wise with dd2 and wasn't at all phased
Dc3 I only have the need because it's room literally has holes in the ceiling and only recently walls with plaster on and a floor...😅😅
Try not to stress, just do something small that makes you feel like you've done more, like maybe make a nice box of nappies you can use around the house with some snacks when you're nap trapped or something x

With my first we tackled a room/ cupboard a weekend and sorted our crap and improved the storage made a huge difference when baby arrived as our stuff had a place and we had better storage for babies stuff

My walls are old and full of cracks, I’m currently staring at them wanting to repair but they just come back 🫠 trying to get in the mindset of it doesn’t matter but the feeling of needing everything perfect is overwhelming

I’ve got rid of pretty much all the clutter, it’s just the decorating but now I’m the size of a balloon and out of breath I just don’t have the energy. I managed to re decorate the living room and babies room but that’s about it. Just feels like it’s getting closer and everywhere is still a mess 🫠

I'd focus on the rooms you are going to be spending most of your time in on maternity leave and leave the rest for after you have settled into life as a family of 3.

I'm 27 weeks with my second and our bedroom needs decorating but for now we will fill the holes we have created and a quick lick of paint, it will get rid on the annoying bits but without too much fuss. We need a new bathroom and to decorate the hall and stairs but both a functioning and I'm not going to spend a great deal of time in them so they are going to be left

I nested like crazy with my first and then when she came I couldn’t clean like I used to and it became a mess again. She’s now 3 and we have our second on the way and it’s still a mess 🤣

Decide where you're going to sit with the baby for naps and breast feeding, then just clean and decorate what you can see. There's nothing worse than spending 4 weeks starting at the same cobweb trapped under a sleeping baby! The rest doesn't really matter. I ran the pram into my newly painted walls, he managed to shit all over the freshly washed curtains within a week (that was a fun 4am!) and I've somehow dribbled breast milk over everything just by being in the vicinity

I cleaned, decluttered and decorated the whole house both of my pregnancies. From 30 weeks onwards.

My last pregnancy I was finishing up the carpet cleaning while in early stages of labour!
