I am 2 weeks away from my due date and I am trying my hardest to make my privates look somewhat pretty ๐Ÿ˜‚ BUT itโ€™s just not going my way at all! First of all there is the swelling but I can deal with that as I get thatโ€™s normal in pregnancy, but itโ€™s been quite sore for some time, almost like chaffing, Iโ€™ve just had a look with a mirror and itโ€™s covered in ingrown hairs and is so red and rashy! Is it normal to hair lots of ingrown hairs down there if you havenโ€™t even shaved recently?! It looks disgusting and Iโ€™m going to be so embarrassed about how it looks. So not only is it hairy, itโ€™s now covered in ingrown hairs and red rash! ๐Ÿ˜ซ

Aren't you the poster who ages ago wrote about your husband making unkind remarks about your vagina during pregnancy, using it as an excuse to avoid sex? My concern here is why are you so concerned about what your pubes look like when there's something altogether more important - and frankly, not particularly attractive, visually - going on down there? Where are the feelings of embarrassment coming from? I can assure you none of the healthcare team will have any opinion whatsoever; all they care about is the wellbeing of you and your baby. Therefore I can only assume it's your husband you're trying to placate?

Honestly, health care professionals, particularly those whose job requires looking at multiple vulvas in all sorts of shapes, sizes, colours, hairiness, and angles, really do not care.
Also, neither will you when shit gets down (sometimes literally, and they don't care about that either)
I couldn't have given two rats when I delivered either time, nor could I have when working in that field.
On the issue of ingrown hairs, for health and comfort wise, I'd suggest exfoliating with am exfoliating glove regularly to encourage them out

@CharlieAndMoose he didnโ€™t say about how it looked but when we last done it about 3/4 months ago he told me he couldnโ€™t feel it because of the swelling and I did post about that because I was mortified after that comment. We havenโ€™t done it since! So yes, it might have be me.

When I had my first born, I actually got waxed before because of the fear of how it would look, I honestly cannot tell you why I feel so ashamed of it, I didnโ€™t have all the swelling that time round either but still felt a bit embarrassed, but this time round it is pretty scary looking, especially now being 38 weeks, it has got a lot worse since my last post but now itโ€™s also covered in ingrown hairs and itโ€™s just making me feel a bit gross. I can cope with the swelling and the pubes, but not the ingrown hairs! Itโ€™s also very sore and uncomfortable.

@LaTable thank you :) I will try and exfoliate, luckily I have those gloves already. Just need to be careful as itโ€™s quite sore at the minute. Just no idea where they have come from!

Nobody cares what you look like down there. Midwives have more important things to be concentrating on instead of whether or not you've dealt with your pubic hair. Seriously, just take a breather. There's nothing to be embarrassed about.
