Hi,
just wondering if Ben and Jerry’s cookie dough itself is pasteurized in the UK?

thanks,

Definitely pasteurized!

It would be very uncommon for anything in the UK not to be pasteurized, because it's a totally standard part of milk processing.

Maybe a really fancy French cheese or something?

Lots of cheese and not just French. Brie and Camembert that is pasteurised is yuk.

Of course it is.

It’s made from this stuff, so so processed it must be pasteurised! www.macphie.com/products/cookie-dough-flavour-filling

All the main brands of Brie in the UK are pasteurized - President, Le Rustique, supermarket brands etc

Please get help, you continue to post these sort of questions. A quick Google would answer your question.
How many threads now have you started about food. If in doubt look on the NHS website it has a whole section on foods to avoid and foods to be cautious of.

Oh right, it wasn't like that 20 years ago when I was pregnant. It was mostly just a few that were and Somerset Brie, then fashionable.

We are lucky enough to have a cheese stall/shop here.

Thanks, just wanted to check as I couldn’t find the answer online on the Ben and Jerry’s website. It just mentions pasteurization of the ice cream itself not the mix ins.

@HayleyD93
Hi,
Sorry if I made you upset with the post. I couldn’t find the information online for the UK Ben and Jerry’s. It clearly states it for North America but not on the UK site. I also didn’t see anything on the NHS site relating to my inquiry. It was just a question to ask if anyone has eaten it in pregnancy or knows the answer.

But @CraftyZebra it's common sense. Of course something as well known and widely sold as Ben and Jerry's is pasteurized. You're not buying artisanal hand churned ice cream from Bertha's Yee Old Farm Shop are you??!!

Things must have changed in 20 years. Unpasteurised Brie and Camembert was the norm, pasteurised was not.
