I had a well intended person comment that I'm carrying very low and it has completely freaked me out. My pregnancy journey hasn't been straightforward (IVF) so naturally I'm a little more anxious than the average pregnant woman.

This coupled with excruciating hip pain at night has made me worry baby is getting ready to come early.

Anyone give me some reassurance? I wish this person hadn't commented on my bump at all. I was so happy with my little bump and thought everything was completely normal.

Everyone carries differently so I really wouldn't let one comment derail you, assuming the person is not a medical professional!

As long as all the scans and checks are ok, that's all that matters.

And I'm suffering with you on the hip pain, it is tough 😥💕

At 19 weeks the baby is still far too small to be having any impact on how you're "carrying" - it weighs about half a pound, compared to about 7 pounds on average by birth. Most people's bumps will start lower down because the uterus grows out of the pelvis and moves upwards as baby grows. Ignore this person and don't let their comments frighten you.

Hip and pelvic pain are also no indicator of pregnancy health and wellbeing. So many factors can affect it. I have recently had a baby, and my friend is due in 2 weeks. She has had PGP since about 16 weeks and is already on mat leave; I do lots of exercise which continued in pregnancy and I worked until the day before my baby was born. But in terms of our babies' development, both pregnancies have tracked the same.
