Pregnancy after previous placental abruption

Hey, could I hear some people's stories on pregnancy after a previous placental abruption.
im currently 35 weeks pregnant after having a placental abruption in labour at 38 weeks 2 years ago.
at my initial midwife appointment I was told an elective c section would be safest and that they wouldn't let me go past 37/38 weeks and now I'm being told they won't let me go past 41 weeks with no extra care, scans, consultant appointments or monitoring booked. I'm absolutely petrified to go into labour and I've all ready had two small bleeds and lots of contractions in the last 4 weeks. All my concerns aren't being heard at the hospital and I'm just so worried something bad is going to happen if I go into labour. I'm high risk for preterm labour as I've all ready had 2 prem babies at 33 and 35 weeks. What was your hospitals management plan for a pregnancy after a previous abruption?

We lost twins to a placental abruption at 23W. I lost a lot of blood and was very unwell. Two years later I had a singleton delivery (vaginal) at 40W and then two years after that I had another set of twins at 37W, again vaginally. All healthy.

We were told that there is no real way to predict or monitor for PA, and that the chances of a reoccurrence were low (although still higher than for people who have never had a PA previously).

I had daily Doppler monitoring in the final two weeks of both subsequent pregnancies and they did scans fortnightly from 16W. I got the sense that this was more for reassurance than because it would predict any kind of PA in progress.

The unpredictability of PA makes it terrifying and I can honestly say I didn't relax until I delivered. Remind yourself of the probabilities of a reoccurrence - it is very unlikely, and get as much help as you can from the hospital.

If you are really worried, ask them to consider a C-section at 37 weeks. Baby is good to go at that stage. Fingers crossed for you xxx
