Worried I’ve been missed for proper pre-eclampsia monitoring

Hello, I’m feeling a little bit fobbed off tonight and wondered if anyone has has a similar experience. I had my routine antenatal appointment today (34w+2) and my blood pressure readings were much higher than usual, at first it was 150/100 then 145/100 then 136/98. My blood pressure is usually around 130/70 so not the lowest but today my midwife told me to go to the assessment unit for monitoring.
The unit was really busy and at triage my blood pressure was completely normal, lower than usual even, 110/67. They told me to go home as it was ‘better than anyone else’s here’ but I have this nagging feeling that they should have put me on a monitor to check.
I definitely have health anxiety, white coat syndrome and tend to overthink things a lot. I have no other symptoms of pre eclampsia at the moment but just worried something might have been missed after those high readings earlier on today and I should have been put on a monitor but was told to go home due to how busy it was.
Any advice or if anyone has had any similar experiences I’d be really happy to hear them even for reassurance! I know I’ll be thinking about this until my next check up! Thank you 😊😊😊

If the baby's movements are ok and you feel ok and the blood pressure was ok then it makes sense for you to go home. I'd order a blood pressure machine off Amazon so you can check at home without the white coat issue elevating it.

One high reading that settles on a repeat without any other concerning symptoms I'd say fine, doesn't warrant much more, we'll keep an eye.
Persistently high readings and a Midwife's judgement that you should be seen in triage is another story.
Personally, I'd go back. I'd say something along the lines of 'I was referred here by my Midwife who decided that I needed further investigations, which I did not get. I do not feel comfortable to forgo the testing my Midwife deemed necessary and want to ensure mine and my baby's safety.' Might sound OTT but if you're not comfortable with the current level of care and have a bad feeling, then you need to advocate for yourself.
The unit being busy is not reason enough to deny you care.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Did they check urine for protein? Have you any other symptoms?

I was regularly petrified of preeclampsia in my first pregnancy, but ftom talking to my consultant, you'd know if you had it.

@MissEloiseBridgerton- I had severe p-e in first pregnancy and felt completely normal. Even though I had to be delivered at 34 weeks.
however OP- get yourself a bp machine off amazon and measure 3x a day. Bp done once is a snapshot in a day and should be considered as an overall picture. Dehydration, stress, tiredness or time of day can affect it.

This happened to me in my first pregnancy.
Had high BP at community midwife appt so was sent to triage.
Triage were stupidly busy and sent in a training midwife to check my BP which was fine. For context, I have nothing against students, I was one once so know how important it is.
The student struggled to get readings and what she did get were significantly lower than any reading I had ever had before in my life. After an hour I was discharged as the ward matron deemed the readings fine.
I tried to contest it but was just sent home.
For the next few weeks, the community midwife deemed my BP as ok because triage had checked and were happy.
It took a locum midwife to check me at 38weeks and send me back to triage where I was seen by a ward matron who declared i had pre-eclampsia and I was induced immediately.

If youre not happy, call triage, explain the situation and go back. They wont refuse to see you. They would rather see you 10 times for no big reason than once where you/baby are in danger.

I did the same thing as you and ended being admitted into hospital for over 24 hours with constant checking, monitoring, only to be told that I am absolutely fine and so is baby. It was honestly the worst 24 hours of my life, I regretted worrying so much. If the professionals around you do not seem worried then 9 times out of 10, you shouldn’t be worried either unless something extremely alarming is going on which by the sounds of things it isn’t.
