Hi everyone. I'm 18 wks preg and have had really bad sickness since 6 wks. It has well settled the past few weeks with being on cyclizine. So much so I thought the sickness was over and i let my tablets run out as I was down to one a day.

Anyway sickness came back really really bad today and have been sick ever 20 mins since 9oclock this morning (now 17.30) I have got more tablets but can't keep them down and am throwing up vomit with brown streaks of blood in it and have had a sore head all day (I'm guessing due to dehydration) . Local midwifes will be away home now so not sure do I need to ring someone and if so who 😕.

All advice appreciated

Go to A&E now. The dehydration can be incredibly dangerous when you’re pregnant. There’s no reason not to get checked out. You’ll probably be put on a drip and intravenous antiemetics and will hopefully feel better soon.

Phone the emergency midwives about the blood. I had awful hyperemesis and it's so horrible and takes such a toll on your body. You probably need an anti-sickness injection in order to be able to hold down the tablets.
Huge hug to you! It's no fun is it.

Straight to A&E & do not allow your meds to run out again. Take them religiously until your placenta is delivered!

so sorry you’ve got this awful condition xxx

Sounds absolutely horrendous. I’m sorry you’re going through this. I would definitely get checked out. Hope they give you fluids and it settles soon.

I used anti-emetics that dissolved in the gum line as swallowing tablets would result in them coming straight back up. At 18 weeks, in my trust, you can contact triage - sounds like you need fluids at the least.

Honestly go straight to A&E. They will put you on a drip of water, vitamins and anti-sickness through a cannula and it should offer you some immediate relief. I am so sorry you are going through this. I experienced HG until 21 weeks with my second pregnancy and it’s one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. Is this your first pregnancy?

Dehydration made my hyperemesis ramp up to the point that I then couldn't keep my antiemetics down. Once I manage to get more hydrated I could keep the antiemetics down and my sickness went back to more tolerable.
With my daughter I had awful sickness in the first and third trimester and intermittent in the second so for me it wasn't a linear journey.
I'm pregnant again and now 23 weeks and whilst the nausea and vomiting isn't as bad as with my daughter I've had an uplift in symptoms again over the last few weeks so it very much can go through phases of better and worse

Try getting xonvea. Cyclizine never worked for me. I am 14 weeks and xonvea has been a life saver!
