Pelvic pain third trimester... Help!!

Fully aware this is a very normal symptom especially in the third trimester but oh my god my pelvis is aching. Mostly in the night and then when I get out of bed however the last few days I have had it throughout the day.

Anyone got any great recommendations to relieve the pain? Any exercises or things that have worked for you? I'm 35 weeks so not too long to go :)

Go and ask yo see physio. I had a stretchy band to hold my hips together which helped massively!

I was going to mention the belt too! And warm baths. The only time my hip didn't hurt was when I was in the bath

That was the thing. I still have it 12 years later - www.serola.net/product/serola-sacroiliac-belt/

Look at the Pelvic Girdle Partnership website, they’re a charity and have loads of great advice. I had PGP in my first pregnancy and was immobile by the end, I’m 40w at the moment with the second and have managed to avoid it this time.

my tips are; take smaller steps rather than longer strides. Be really mindful of being “even” on your legs and hips. Eg don’t sit with your legs crossed, don’t stand on one leg, sit on the bed to put pants and trousers on etc. even if a movement doesn’t hurt in the moment, if it’s wonky for your pelvis is can cause later pain. Getting out of the car, swing your whole body around rather than put one leg out first

i found a belt made my pain worse, but many people find them helpful.

Im 33wks today and have PGP on and off. I find doing yoga or simple stretches in the morning helps, as I wake up quite stiff. Been swimming 1-2 times a week. Being weightless in the water really helps. I also try and get at least a 30min walk in every day. I've found the pain is worse when I've been less active. I WFH as well so being confined to my desk all day really flares up the pain.
