Syringes and vials in carry on bag - travelling

Hi all, i’ll be taking a short flight (less than 2 hours) for a pre-booked holiday and need to take my meds (vials and syringes) with me. Flying with BA. I checked their website and looks like they’d only ask for a copy of prescription if anything. I want them in my carry on bag because i’m so scared of losing them! Do i need to prepare anything else or will it be straightforward?

I had a letter from my fertility clinic but nobody asked for it. It was very straightforward, security didn't ask any questions. I had all my syringes and vials in my carry on bag.

I would just take prescription

We have taken Ds EpiPens on multiple flights and I just Chuck bag ( red with EpiPen label) on security belt so it’s obvious, but nobody had every asked me to open them or to see a document

I flew out of Gatwick 2 weeks ago with Fragmin blood thinner injections and panicked so much before going but they didn't even get flagged up at security. My bag got pulled for a tiny bit of water in my flask and she asked did I have anything sharp in my bag, I said I have injections and she said that's fine I don't need to know about them.
Hopefully it will be as easy returning through dalaman airport tomorrow 🙏

Sorry to crash this thread, but I’m presuming when people say syringes you mean with needles attached. I have to fly with syringes and separate needles which are attached only when I use the syringe. I was going to put the needles in the hold but would prefer to carry them on the plane in case they get lost, so curious.

@NeonGiraffe - you can carry separate find according to guidelines. The only thing they say is you should ideally carry for the journey. So maybe pack 3-4 day supply in hand luggage with spares ( and any breakable medicine), and extra in hold bag if it’s a long trip.

I know someone who carried entire 6 week trip supply of diabetic medication and equipment for her and 2 children when they did a long trip and it was fine ( and filled its own hand luggage suitcase)
