Really hope I can get some advice…I’m 7 weeks 3 days pregnant following a fresh embryo transfer and suffering from severe nausea and vomiting. It’s a medicated cycle so I’m taking Elleste Solo 2mg tablets 3 x daily and Cyclogest pessaries 400mg 2 x daily. Just wanted to know whether anyone else in this situation has been prescribed Cyclizine to help with the pregnancy sickness. I’m worried it could interact with the hormones I’m taking to sustain the pregnancy. Has anyone else been in this situation and is taking cyclizine without any issues?

@Mimes83 so sorry to hear you are feeling so unwell. I haven’t been in this situation but my pregnancy is also an ivf one. Did you call the ivf clinic and ask for advice? I would suggest doing this as they are experts and would know. It may be better to be on medication than risk vomiting tablets.
Mine was a fully medicated fet and I had stopped taking everything by 9 weeks. Have they told you when you can stop the meds ? I did have quite a bit of sickness at the start of the pregnancy and my clinic told me the oral estrogen can contribute to sickness a bit. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I took ondansetron very early on and it was the only thing that helped me until it subsided by 20-22 weeks. I’m sorry you’re going through this, it is so so tough but please know this too shall pass and you will have your bundle of joy in your arms in no time

Thank you so much for your message@TheIceBear 😊I emailed my fertility consultant in Spain but he said he can’t advise….I need to seek advice from a consultant obstetrician over here. In the end I spoke to a fantastic GP whose wife had hyperemesis is both her pregnancies and he prescribed Xonvea (doxylamine/pyroxidine). I think it’s helping….I’m not vomiting nearly as much and the nausea hasn’t been quite as bad. In fact, today I’m a little worried something might be wrong with the baby because I’ve actually managed to keep some popcorn down! Can’t bloody win! I have another scan on Friday so just hope all’s ok and that it’s just the medication working and/ or the placenta taking over which can apparently help. The thought of going through all this again absolutely terrified me 😱 I’m now 9 weeks, 2 days and I’ve been told to reduce my medication from 06/06/25 and then everything once I’m 11 weeks. I’m so grateful for your message. I’ll let you know how I get on on Friday. Ps. How far along are you now? Xx

@Mimes83 glad to hear you feel a bit better. I started feeling better towards the end of the first trimester. I know I was lucky I didn’t have the sickness for too long. I’m 37 weeks so getting myself psyched up now for the birth. Actually found the first trimester the most exhausting part of pregnancy. Hope all goes well for you.
