@MummyJ36 thank you!!! Nice to hear yours lifted. I feel like I'm in shock haha it's so different this time round. I remember with my son I had morning sickness but would be odd moments throughout the day, not like this though. I just wasn't sure if the gp would help because I'm not actually vomiting also I'm not really like run to the drs type of person, I try to tough it out but suppose I shall see tomorrow. Thank you again xx

Not at all! I know how hard it is ♥️ With DC1 I had genuine morning sickness in the morning but it tapered off as the day went on and I was able to retain my sanity in the evening and eat and drink slightly more normally. With DC2 it was all day nausea and the only time I felt at peace was when I was sleeping!

I actually think it’s a good sign if you’re not physically vomiting and much more likely it will improve as mine did. The friends I know who’ve suffered for the duration of the pregnancy with morning sickness / HG were vomiting multiple times throughout the day with no let up.

sending lots of love! Xxx

i had HG for the full 9 months so developed many strategies.

small hard candies to suck on
Keep salty water biscuits next to your bed. Eat one before you stand up.
if you have a craving for something, eat it no matter how inconvenient or ridiculous. My husband was chief food fetcher and that was a lifesaver. Indulging in these cravings were the rare moments I didn’t vomit. If the craving was for steak I might even get a full day. Try to eat steak at a random time and I could not even look at it.

talk to your care provider about what meds they can provide. Sadly for me they came with an awful headache that forced me to bed so it was a trade off.

@Jadeypie I think there's a scoring system them encompasses the number of times you are sick, dry heave, number of hours nauseous

I have had antiemetics in all of my 4 pregnancies but they have never gone through any hyperemesis diagnosis criteria. I think I have had HG in first 3 pregnancies in each of those I was pretty much chained to the sofa or toilet. Nausea for the vast majority of the day and could be sick 5 times a day or other days pretty much continuously. In one of those pregnancies I only vomited if I exerted myself so I was sick twice in the GP waiting rooms and three times during the GP appointment but then once I got home and didn't have to move from the sofa ( and lay down I couldn't sit up) I wasn't sick for the rest of the day.

I have never gone in for fluids but that's probably more stubbornness than anything else. My first pregnancy was during the pandemic so was actively avoiding the hospital so tried to sip hydration sachets and that slowly helped. One thing that has made my sickness worse has been dehydration so the more bad days I have the more dehydrated i get then the more sick I get. I think my main saving grace has been that by 4 in the afternoon the symptoms subsided enough for me to take on hydration and manage at home. There was one day in my second pregnancy where I hadn't kept anything down and when I tried to get up in the night to get my daughter some Calpol in the night my legs gave away and I landed in a heap on my ankle and ended up in a and E ... They were more worried about the fall than my foot but by the time I had been persuaded to go in I had been able to take on a bit of food and fluid so my observations weren't too bad. This time I kept trying to work on any days where I had sickness and less nausea. The pregnancy after I accepted a 4 week sicknote and just stayed on the sofa and it took less of a tole on my body.
