Coping with morning sickness

hi! I’ve recently got my first ever BFP after a long time trying (6w+5 today), and I’m absolutely over the moon. The morning sickness is baaad though and pretty much lasts from when I wake up and until when I go to aleep. I also normally eat a low processed diet based on the Mediterranean diet, however since I’ve gotten my bfp all I can stomach is fatty salty carbs, like hash browns and crisps, which is so crazy for me! 🤣
I was just wondering if anyone had any tips as to anything I can do to feel a little better? and also a little reassurance that this will end and I can go back to my normal diet and it won’t have affected my baby negatively?
thanks so much xx

Nibbling carbs was the only way I got through it, it was like being severely hungover day and night. I bitterly resented it being called "morning" sickness. Just eat what you can, and try to get some healthier stuff when you're up to it. It's worse if you haven't eaten so do try to nibble something. Best of luck.

I was the same with my first. I craved awful, greasy takeaway pizzas. The nausea gradually improved although didn't go completely until after she was born. I'm back to normal with everything except hummus now which I still can't get away with!

Be kind to yourself and eat whatever makes you feel better.

Eat whatever you can stomach- i think i spent the first 12 weeks of each pregnancy eating salt and vinegar crisps. If it gets really hard- get some anti sickness from the docs, cyclizine worked well in my second pregnancy but the first and third i needed heavier duty stuff!

Ginger biscuits, dry toast worked for me.... until the indigestion started at six months x eat when you can. It will pass x

I also got a craving for marmite....one taste and 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤣🤣

I felt like shite for four months. I could only eat what I could get down! On the converse I think the sicker you are the more likely the pregnancy is to be successful- that’s what my gp said anyway!

Thanks very much everyone! It’s daunting to think this could last for many months more, when every day feels like a struggle at the moment, but it will be worth it in the end!
It is most definitely not limited to the morning, more like all day sickness (!), but I haven’t actually been sick yet - I feel that may actually make me feel a bit better!
It’s reassuring to hear that it’s ok to just eat whatever I feel like at the moment, as I’ve been feeling very guilty thinking this can’t possibly be good for baby when all I read is that I should be eating dark leafy greens etc 🤣🤣

@PoppyPeaches i feel like i could of wrote this post myself!! I've been on a major health kick for over a year now run 3x a week ect super healthy. Anyway that all went out the window the last two weeks and I've struggled with guilt. sickness has took over and the only thing that makes it settle for 10 mins is crap food! I've just gave into the fact I just need to do what I can do and it will hopefully pass. I'm seriously sick (not vomiting) ALL DAY LONG! Ive even started waking in the night with it. It's hard so I'm sympathise xx
