Since Saturday under my bump has been constantly aching and in discomfort along with my back at times as well- I was getting worried the pain wasn’t subsiding so I rang triage and she said it sounds like it is definately PGP! Has anyone else had experiences with PGP? I cannot stand the pain being there all the time the only time I get some relief is when I’m in the bath, I’ve been off work this week I’m 31+5 and don’t know how I’m going to put up with this for another 8 weeks I didn’t realise with PGP that the pain could be there 24/7

I have PGP at the moment. For me it started early - at maybe 20 weeks pregnant. I can pinpoint the pain to the tendons between the two halves of the pelvis though - either at the front down low on the pelvic mound (I can feel where the bones are through my skin) or at the back where the bones join together at the sacrum. The muscles get tired from holding everything together, which can feel achy by the end of the day. It’s really annoying. If I move wrong I can immediately feel the instability in my pelvis. It’s disconcerting and sometimes shockingly painful. I’m not in pain 24/7 though.

A support belt can help - it helps your abs to hold up the weight of you bump which takes some of the pressure off your pelvis.

I had PGP with my first pregnancy. Look at the pelvic partnership website, it's a charity for PGP.
I found it completely debilitating with my first pregnancy to the point I was immobile by the end.
I haven't had it with my second pregnancy but was mindful from the beginning. My biggest tips are to be very even on both legs...don't cross your legs, sit on the bed to put pants and trousers on (ie don't ever stand on one leg) when walking take short strides. Personally I found a belt made mine worse but many many people find them helpful

I had severe PGP with my first. I'm now 23 weeks with my second and its worse than i remember. The support belts didn't work for me, the only thing that gives me relief is my hot water bottle at night. During the day i just have to suffer the pain. It's horrible and debilitating but i found nothing that helps unfortunately ☹️
