Hi all , i have suddenly started to have conditions of preeclampsia and Baby is SGA under continuous monitoring. 33 weeks now. I just want to know if it affect the baby like mental or physical disability? Or can babies just be constitutionally small but healthy enough and will grow appropriately outsode the womb. PLGF is 30 as well and possibility of preterm. I know everyone is different health wise but had anyone faced this issue and still was the baby healthy in all aspects? Also does this have long term effects on mother’s health?

I had pre-eclampsia and had my daughter at 30 weeks ECS weighing 2lb 5oz.
We had lots of additional monitoring until she was about 5 as she was tube fed and oxygen dependent for some months.

She's now 30, got a 1st and a Masters, good job, perfectly healthy and no problems at all. It is possible to have a good outcome.
Things have moved on since the 1990s, neonatal care is very good don't stress about possibilities that may not happen.

Try not to focus on the 'What ifs." Having a child is stressful enough. Until it happens to you, you assume it will all be ok because people don't talk about their problems.
Only after it happens will people tell you about the difficulties they experienced. It turned out I knew several other people who'd had similar experiences.
The vast, vast majority went on to have perfectly normal pregnancies and births and the children are all healthy.
Sending you best wishes for a calm and joyful pregnancy x

Da was delivered at 32 weeks on the dot after me developing PE at 26 weeks, as soon as I had the steroid injection for his lungs. He was 3lbs 9 and is 24 now, 6ft 4, strong as an ox and no issues whatsoever . In fact, he was 7lbs by his due date, he caught up really fast. They will monitor you really closely.
