What are some of the symptoms you had that were different when you had a boy and a girl. Was there any difference? 💙💝

I know every pregnancy is different but just curious as to what you all felt...

Currently pregnant with my second and it's already a completely different pregnancy to my first which has got me thinking.

Hi - mum of two boys and pregnant with a girl currently! At the beginning the pregnancies were exactly the same, sever sickness and tiredness but after I hit the 12 week mark it’s changed so much! Heartburn, only craving sweet foods whereas with my boys all I craved was pickled eggs (random I know😂) now the smell of an egg makes me gag. My bump is also a very different shape this time round so definitely a difference in pregnancies with a girl rather than a boy I’d say. When do you find out what you’re having?xx

I had nausea pretty early on with my girl and second pregnancy with boy absolutely none it was great

LaTable · 03/05/2025 16:07

Only had girls (still waiting to find this one out) and both craved salted foods, no morning sickness, just tiredness for a couple of weeks if that.

This time for a solid month all I could handle was sweets, cakes and fizzy drinks which I normally actually hate, plus morning sickness all day long from finding out bfp.
All the "signs of having a boy" were all accurate for my girls 😅

AnnaQuayInTheUk · 03/05/2025 16:17

My two pregnancies were completely different. With my first I was very sick in the mornings in the first trimester. Plus very strong food cravings. No sickness or food cravings with my second. Bumps were completely different shapes.

I have two boys.

InsertUsernameHereeee · 03/05/2025 16:19

2 boys here. With the first I was very sick, felt like I’d been hit by a bus, felt awful for about 8 weeks.
The second absolutely nothing.

🤦‍♀️

There is no such thing. Very different symptoms and births - same sex. Sex of the baby has absolutely nothing to do with how you feel in pregnancy. It’s hormones and isn’t linked to sex.

OP if it’s a bit of fun then fine but otherwise this is ridiculous.

It is just a bit of fun, just curious to see how peoples pregnancies differed that's all ☺️ I hope that's okay.

Jesus your username really says it all doesn't it? Maybe you need to calm down, you’re on a bloody mums forum? If someone wants to ask a question either for fun or for not, they can?! How dare they ask about other people’s experiences when it comes to carrying boys or girls. If you’re going to moan about something make it worth moaning about at least, a pregnant woman asking a question is not it.

You’re hilarious. Thanks for the laugh.

I had worse migraines with my boys than with my daughter. Otherwise no difference.

Echobelly · 03/05/2025 21:39

Not much difference - with DS I was exhausted for the weeks 2-6 (I took the test and realised that explained it) and didn't get that with my first.

One thing that did happen, which fortunately doesn't happen in most pregnancies, was I had an awful rash on my torso from about week 36 and apparently this rash is more common if you're having a boy and this was the first time I thought maybe I was having one. Wouldn't wish it on anybody - until I got to see a dermatologist I had a couple of days when I was too itchy to put on clothes! I did get some lotions that got it to being bearable, but it didn't go away until after the birth, that was fortunately only 2.5 weeks after because I was having a planned c-section.

No I didn’t ‘really need it’ but funny is funny.

I had two girls and my symptoms and bumps were SO different I was convinced my second was a boy!
