PGP and work said they can accommodate my amended duties from GP

Not sure if this is the right area sorry if not
but I was signed off for two weeks with PGP and I’m due back in a few days (im now 19weeks) and had a GP appointment who has given me an amended duties office based work recommendation. (This is based in the UK)
my job is a role within the care sector and is mainly office based with some meds duties but at times expected to cover carers when they are short staffed.
I expressed when I sent this to my boss that I was also excited to get back to work however the reply was unfortunately they can’t accommodate this but can see if a sister home can and has also forward this on to HR.
I’ve expressed in my reply that I do feel my role is more office based and i would just be not available to cover the floor when they’re short staffed or do the longer of the three medication rounds.
I haven’t heard back yet
just need to know where I stand in regards to this?
I have looked online and can see they have to pay my full wage until they can accommodate this?
Also sounds like if I’d go back I’d not be allowed to continue my normal job position.
Just looking for ANY advice really as I’m majorly stressing now about finances as I can’t afford to have no income between now and baby being here, and I am stressed that it’s all going to effect my maternity pay when I do go on maternity leave and also my job I’ve worked so hard for!

I would join your union and ask them

Failing that citizens advice are quite helpful

companies are entitled to say they can’t accommodate your needs if they can’t - and it does sound like carer cover is going to be an issue, but they may have to show they cannot offer you an alternative.

@theunbreakablecleopatrajones
they’ve emailed today today to say they’ve asked across their sister homes to see if they have office work available and they’ll let me know but probably best I get signed off again…so frustrating I financially can’t afford to be off either as I only get SSP. I’ve got the added stress on top of already struggling with my mental health during this pregnancy. I honestly just feel so let down and lost after giving them nearly 4 years of dedication and hard work. Honestly feeling so broken and let down right now their lack of support makes me want to just up and quit
