Best bottles/bottle makers and ways to do bottles easy at night

Hi,

looking for some advice please. My last over 6 years ago was BF all the way so never needed a bottle etc. 2nd due soon but for medical reasons, I can’t BF this time…

I have looked online for bottles for newborns, bottle makers but there seems to be a lot of options…im looking for reasonably priced, ease of use and quick, something I could perhaps have upstairs at night so I don’t wake up my daughter as she sleeps below the kitchen and is a light sleeper. I also
have to have a c-section so something easy for me to do at night.

so many options am not 100% sure what’s best. Ideally something for day time, easy night feeds and something for travel as we have to visit granny a few times a week as she’s on her own.

thanks,
s

I just had my baby in March and I’m also exclusively FF. Baby girl has cow & gate formula as they were the cheapest brand that did the ready to feed bottles to take into hospital, she really likes it so stuck with it. Great buying options on Amazon as well rather than from the supermarket.

We have a tommee tippee prep machine but at first we were using the ready made milk and putting in Mam bottles as the smallest feed the prep machine makes is 4oz. Now she’s on bigger feeds my God is the prep machine a game changer!! We bought one and we were also gifted one so we have one in our bedroom for nighttime and one in the kitchen for daytime, but you could easily move just one up and downstairs for the night feeds.

Honestly can’t recommend a prep machine enough, we had a cracking deal on Amazon during Black Friday sales so keep your eyes peeled. When researching myself I saw some people say using the prep machine gave their little ones upset tummies but we’ve had 0 issues, as long as you keep it clean, change the water if it’s been sat unused for a few days and test the hot shot with a cheap thermometer before first use to ensure it is 70 degrees, then I’m sure you’d have no problems either.

As for travelling, if we’re out & about we’re still using the ready made milk and just put in a Mam bottle (my girl loves these btw, they came highly recommended and Asda currently have a deal on a starter pack!) but we also have a Nuby rapid cool which we’re yet to use, these have been highly recommended to me too and Aldi are currently selling the set for £29.99 in their Baby event which is an absolute steal!!

Not sure if you’re aware but if you have an Amazon account you can create a Baby Wishlist and claim 15% discount on all qualifying items - this is still valid if the item is already discounted in a sale or something too! If you google, it tells you how to set up the wish list and claim your discounts. We bought the prep machine this way and a million other things to save some money!

Tommee tippee bottles and a hot water dispenser that you can set to 70°. Bottles in seconds at the perfect temperature 😊

I am currently using MAM anti-colic bottles with my newborn and, so far, so good. We have six bottles on rotation at any time, and it works perfectly for us.
The MAM bottles are self-sterilising too, although I don’t use that feature all the time, to be honest, as we have the old-school cold water steriliser (Milton’s basic one from Boots). However, it is handy if you get caught short and need a clean bottle quickly, as the process takes just three minutes in the microwave.

I also use the Tommee Tippee prep machine, and PP is spot on – this is such a great piece of kit for new parents. That being said, I have heard from friends that some babies become excessively gassy with bottles made using the prep machine, as they are very bubbly. Luckily, this hasn’t been something we’ve experienced, and my baby has been having nighttime bottles made this way from early on. My baby is also exclusively formula-fed, as I cannot breastfeed either, so I was in a similar boat of wanting to find a suitable nighttime setup for us.
The MAM bottles are compatible with the TT prep machine too, which was a question I had before buying the machine.

Hope you find a good solution! :)

Ohh also to add - I had a C Section too! We set up the TT machine on a feeding station in our room with a chair next to it, so everything was in easy reach to minimise movement.
