Hi, my names Kay. I've been trying for a baby for nearly 18 months now. My last period lasted much longer than usual, approximately 3 weeks and 4 days! In the middle of my period, I had unprotected sex and a few days after intercourse, I noticed my breasts became rather sore and achey. Ever since noticing this, I've developed more symptoms such as rather severe fatigue, headaches, lower back and abdomen pain along with nausea and vomiting. I had a discomforting pain in my left ovary which faded away after a few days. I noticed today when I wiped after a pee, a bit of thick, stringy mucus with a bit of blood in it. I've been doing pregnancy tests for a while now. My last test showed up like this. (See the pic I've attached) is this a faint positive result? I'm not due on for atleast 10 days.

I wouldn’t say that’s positive no. It’s very thin and looks like an evap line.

10 days before your period is due is also too early to get a positive test. Do you know when you ovulated? It’s unusual (but not impossible) to ovulate during your period even if it’s very long. Did you go to the doctor about why your period lasted so long?

Normally it takes a fertilised egg a minimum of 5 days after sex to travel into the right place and start implanting. It then takes a few days after this for hormones to increase enough to produce symptoms and enough hormone to show on a test. So most people will get a positive test by about 10-12 days past ovulation, which for most people is 1-5 days before their period. The earliest pregnancy tests say they can be used is 6 days before period.
