Felt water trickle out of me, knew it wasn't wee Then looked in toilet, huge clot in the toilet, peeing blood

Been toilet few times since, wee is light yellow but wiping blood. I am not in pain at the moment

Has anyone experienced this?

I am sorry but going to A&E isn't a good idea unless you feel very unwell or have excessive bleeding
I went to A&E when I thought I was having a MC and it was awful, I would have been better at home where I was comfy as I didn't need or even get any medical care.

Honestly? If no pain or fever etc I would just want and see how things pan out in the next day or so. There is literally nothing that can be done at this stage and it’s a public holiday weekend so I don’t think getting seen will be likely or any help. Obviously if things change and you are in pain or have any worrying signs like one sided pain etc.

@MyGreyPeer If you aren't in pain or passing more blood, I'd sit tight for tonight.

Call 111 in the morning and ask for a referral to EPAU (my EPAU didn't allow people to just show up, needed GP or 111 referral). EPAU should be able to work out what happened and what needs to happen next. (It could just be a sub chorionic haemotoma.)

If you suddenly find yourself in pain - anything lasting more than 30 minutes, I'd call 111 tonight.

If the worst has happened, they'll want to scan you to make sure there isn't anything left behind as this could give you a serious infection. In my EPAU, scans don't happen at night so they may just bring you in to check your urine/vitals and send you home to come back in for a scan.

Blood-wise, pop a pad in now - even if you think it's stopped - and try to keep an eye on it. If you're going through more than one pad an hour then definitely call 111 or go to A&E.

Hope it works out for you. 🍀

It is really scary and awful to bleed during pregnancy. If it helps, and things do get worse, there's an amazing thread on MN about practicalities of miscarriage. It made me feel much less alone and helped me understand wtf was going to happen next.

Obviously I don't know your circumstances but myself and a couple of my friends had very heavy bleeding in the first trimester and we went on to have healthy babies.

Previously I had always thought bleeding meant the worst.

Wishing you well. X

Edited to add i went to a and e and was told I had a missed miscarriage but I didnt believe it due to my friends similar experiences and they ended up doing a scan (which isnt usually the case) and I was able to see baby.

I had this at around 8 weeks pregnant and wanted to offer you some hope as I know how terrifying it is.

I’d had a little light spotting in the week before but nothing major and then, out of nowhere, had a huge gush of blood with a clot about the size of a large plum. I had no pain or cramping etc. I remember it was a weekend so I saw no point going to a&e so went to bed and cried that I was losing the pregnancy. Had no further gushing or pain, blood when I wiped only, which made me question if it was in fact a miscarriage. Went to epu on the Monday and was shocked to see a heartbeat on the scan.

Mine was a subchorionic hematoma that resolved itself over the next few weeks and baby was completely unaffected and is now a healthy two year old.

If the bleeding doesn’t intensify and you don’t have any pain or cramping then it’s not always bad news so please stay hopeful! Call EPU first thing Monday morning as they’ll scan you and make sure you go to a&e if there’s any pain or serious bleeding.

sending lots of love x
