Irritable uterus

I had an irritable uterus with my first pregnancy which started at 28 weeks. I was put on the CTG and the midwives believed that I was in labour due to the regular contractions, however I wasn’t in any pain, it was just really annoying! This carried on for the rest of my pregnancy but I didn’t deliver until 40+1. I also had a PPH of 1L - to think the irritable uterus contributed to this?

I'm now pregnant again 5 years later but I am feeling really anxious about the chances of having an irritable uterus again as I feel it really ruined my pregnancy as I pretty much stayed in bed the whole time. Has anyone experienced similar?

I had exactly this with DS2 at 28 weeks!
I was feeling very mild but regular pains so went to hospital where the CTG showed I was actually having contractions
I had a steroid injection to mature his lungs just in case.. but the contractions stopped completely that night and I went home to next morning.
He was born exactly on his due date with no problems and is now a chartered accountant
Nothing at all with DS3.
i was told 28 weeks is a common time to happen.
Please don’t worry( easy to say I know)

@uncomfortablydumb60 i had the steroids too - they are absolutely horrendous! Did the irritable uterus continue throughout your pregnancy? Mine did and it was just a constant worry until I got to full term and was praying for him to come out 😂

I was really lucky that they stopped overnight.
They checked regularly that I wasn’t dilating at all and I never had another twinge… until they started for real and he was born!
I have 3 DS’s and never happened with the others
when you have your first appointment make sure the midwife records it in your notes and remind them again when labour starts
Stress won’t help, so do speak up.
