37 weeks with breech and static growth

Has anyone been in this situation? I had static growth between 33-36 weeks and now the options are

-ecv to try to turn baby
-if ecv if successful I can have an induction
-elective section

Both induction and c section will be done at 38 weeks due to concern my placenta isn't working as well as it should.

This is my second pregnancy, my first was spontaneous labour at 39 weeks, vaginal birth with forceps.

I'm leaning towards elective c section and opting out of ecv, I just have a worry that baby isn't turning because of cord issues. I am extremely anxious about the thought of induction too, my last labour was waters breaking naturally which was great for me as I find internal examinations unbearable and I got to avoid a lot of that.

Any experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated x

Also should mention baby isn't in frank breech position and has been all along in this pregnancy

I had a similar quandary and the more I read about ecv the more I worried so went with my gut that an elective c section would be better. How you give birth does not define motherhood.

I had an unplanned c section after 5 days attempting induction. It was honestly fine. I had a few issues with the scar but all ok in the end and in your situation I wouldn’t hesitate to have a c section.

Good luck

Thanks for your replies @Attictroll and @SnowSnow

I agree the birth doesn't define your experience as a mother at all. I think it's just hard to balance the risks, the unknowns and how to manage the recovery. I have a 16 month old already so that slightly worries me re going for a c section.

I think I'm going to go along to the breech clinic appointment and if they are confident they can turn the baby I will try it but if they aren't I will book in an elective c section 🤷🏻‍♀️

Personally I would go for the section. It's not just the breech but the lack of growth. This makes baby less resilient. Good luck!

@helpmum2003 wise words thank you
