Well since 14 weeks of pregnancy I had some struggles with sleep . Couldn’t sleep well or at all. Now it takes me hours to fall asleep and I keep waking up every 3 to 2 hours. I fell asleep at 4 am and wake up at 7 am, then it takes me 2 hours to fall again at 9am and i do sleep like 3 more hours. Totally 5 hours of sleep sometimes 6 and 4 hours.
i have read in google that it can affect the baby in the womb. I truly wanted to know your thoughts and experience. Is that really true 🥹😣

Hi mommy, I had the same experience during my first pregnancy. Told my gyne that I couldn't sleep and woke up almost every hour. My gyne's advice was just stay in bed with your eyes closed and try to relax eventhough you can't sleep. My DS is 6 yrs old now :)

Don't believe all of dr Google.
Have you discussed this with your midwife?
Personally I suffer from insomnia, and then pregnancy insomnia which is mighty lovely. Much as you described lots of interrupted sleep and lots of just being awake for hours on end.
Have this with every pregnancy. Never affected any of them negatively!

I imagine if you’re getting very very little sleep, like literally a couple of hours of disturbed sleep every night over a long period of time then yes it probably could affect the baby as it will be affecting your body function.
It’s really normal for sleep to be disturbed / pregnancy insomnia to creep up in pregnancy. I don’t know anyone who has been pregnant who hasn’t had troubles with sleep during pregnancy! Try not to worry as that will also stop you from getting good sleep. I’ve been struggling to sleep for weeks and often just get up and start my day at 4am! Same happened in my first pregnancy, and my toddler seems fine and pretty intelligent ( he is absolutely crazy but I don’t think that can be blamed on my lack of sleep during pregnancy! 😅)
You’ll probably find you have a couple of nights of what feels like very little sleep and then a random night of 6+ hours and then drop back to a few hours again the next night. If you feel like you’re struggling and it’s affecting your moods or daily life then definitely contact your midwife or GP for advice.

With my first, I had similar insomnia and she was an amazing sleeper. I slept better with my second and he was less good. So in my small sample of 2, I'd go with the insomnia baby 😂

Thank you for sharing your experience. When I read those types of messages it makes me feel way better even though the doctor didn’t mentioned anything about it affecting the baby. She told me that you need to rest, first of all for your own body, you should be ok for your own health and if you can’t get a lot of sleep, than whenever you feel sleepy try to take a nap🥹 but I’ve read a lot of things on Google and I was worried every time but knowing that this situation happen with a lot of women out there, kind of feel so much better not being alone 💞
thank you darling 🫶🏽🫶🏽

I mean sometimes I do sleep good and the others day not so good. So this situation kind of makes me sad and nervous and I worry about the baby all the time. I do think about the baby all the time and I know it’s not good. My doctor told me to be more chill and relax, but I still can’t be it does bother me so much that sometimes I feel ok and the other day not getting a lot of sleep. But I’m getting used to it. I just needed to hear from you guys if you had the same experience and if the baby was OK.
thnx for your advice ❤️🫶🏽

I have similar issues in my pregnancy, I’m waking up every hour or so, and taking about a whole hour to fall back asleep. It’s exhausting, and it doesn’t help how every time I do wake up I have to go bathroom and wake myself up even more xx
