Hello. Not sure if I'll get any luck but is there anyone from West Yorkshire , around huddersfield particularly, who knows a chiropractor that does the webster technique. Baby is breech at over 36 weeks. Baby could still turn but still want to do what I can where possible.. when I ring and ask if their chiros are trained to do it they act like I'm speaking another language. Im still doing everything else like spinning babies and what not before anyone suggets that. Thankyou!

Hi, can't help you on the chiro front. But just wanted to say that 36 weeks is still quite early and you've still got a few weeks to turn.
Also the spinning babies thing is bs in my opinion and did not help whatsoever for me haha

I did has and ecv around the 36 week mark for a few additional reasons though and they really aren't as bad as people make them to be! Not painful, just uncomfortable and baby came naturally a few weeks after.
Good luck to you though with the spinning endeavours!

Going to a chiropracter is about as sensible as believing in snake oil, especially when there is a baby involved. Thank goodness they are not offering to turn it.

I wouldn’t waste your money, a chiropractor in my experience was a waste for my breech. In general, honestly I felt like I was being mugged at every appointment. Such a scam!! Anyway my breech baby was turned by a doctor at the hospital.

@LaTable thankyou for this. I know baby could turn at any point but in the back of my head it's stressing me out that wont happen. My first was head down from the beginning but I think chiro is a no from me from the responses I've got. A few I know have had success with moxibustion so will definitely try that and alot cheaper too. Thankyou again!

@Redburnett thanks for your response although you could have written it in 10 different ways that wasn't rude! 🤨

Spinning babies has lots of advice , positions etc. you need to get in your ball wide pelvis to allow room for the baby to go head down . Do t waste your money op on anything else as it's not based on evidence good luck

I don't know anything about pregnancy, but all doctors and surgeons will tell you never to go anywhere near a chiropractor!

CurlewKate · 12/04/2025 10:54

Please don’t go to a chiropractor.Well, certainly if there’s a baby involved. Put yourself at risk if you must-not the baby.

thepurgebegins · 12/04/2025 11:12

@CurlewKate @Cynic17 I find it odd that it's been recommended by the doctor! I'm definitely not going for it anymore thankyou

Sorry I was so blunt OP, Cynic 17 has expressed it much better.
I have watched too many chiropracters on Youtube, the Russian ones tend to be especially terrifying.
There is a lack of scientific evidence for most chiroprac techniques, and watching Youtube has made me realise how dubious some of them are.

I’m not going to lie to you it was horrible :/ a lady tried to do it but she had dainty hands and was jabbing me with her fingers. A male doctor tried and he had big bear hands and it was horrendous but it worked. Sadly I didn’t go into labour naturally as I had a stubborn little baby, I was induced when I was well overdue.

Contact Jess Evans Yoga on Facebook. She does a lot around pregnancy yoga and baby positioning. My baby decided to go face up instead of face down just before birth and Jess did a zoom session giving me lots of positions and movement to do to convince baby girl to turn. She is based in North Yorkshire so not far from you in West Yorkshire

@flyinghen oh God that sounds awful. Ive been in for a scan today and it seems baby is very much now head down so hopefully it's not something I need to think about anymore. Thankyou to everyone else for their replies! I overthink too much unfortunately

Yay! Glad baby is head down now, I hope they stay that way :)

Beeches24 · 13/04/2025 17:27

Is it Moxa that you're thinking of getting done?

I don't really see too much wrong with giving it a go.

thepurgebegins · 13/04/2025 18:52

@Beeches24 not moxa but the so called alignment they do. Moxa was first on my list however baby is confirmed head down thankfully. I wouldn't ever go near a chiropractor for this reason I don't know what I was thinking! The doc had advised it but at the scan the doctor said a big no! But a big yes to moxa.
