But the chances of this technique correctly predicting your baby's sex is about 50/50 – no better than guessing.

Where does the Ramzi theory come from?
The Ramzi theory appears to have started with a research paper published on the website ObGyn.net in 2011. The paper didn't include an author's name or affiliation, but elsewhere the theory has been attributed to a Dr. Saad Ramzi Ismail. It's unclear who this is and what his credentials are.

ObGyn.net is owned by a media company and describes itself as an online community for medical professionals. It's not a peer-reviewed medical journal. That means research published on the site hasn't undergone the rigorous process of being reviewed by other scientists or medical experts to make sure it's scientifically valid. The Ramzi paper has been removed from the site, which currently says "unfortunately, Ramzi's method has not been confirmed in any additional studies."

Is there evidence to back up the Ramzi method?
No. Other researchers have tackled the topic, and there's no conclusive evidence to support the Ramzi theory. But there is evidence to disprove it. An Australian study published in the journal Ultrasound in Obstetrics & Gynecology tested the theory and found no relationship between the location of the placenta and a baby's sex.

Im confused by the ramzi theory when it predicts the sex of your baby by which side the placenta is located. Ie left for girl and right for boy.
At 6 weeks there is no placenta, theres a yolk sac and the placenta takes over a bit later between 8 and 12 weeks but doesnt develope in the same spot as the yolk sac.
So for arguments sake, if theres a prediction that youre having a boy on a 6 week transvaginal scan because its right sided, what happens when the yolk sac is no more and the placenta takes over and ends up on the left side indicating a girl or maybe if the placenter ends up in the midfle or at the bottom.
It would be intetesting to have some vuews on this.
