High Risk for Down’s, Edward’s and Patau’s

Really panicking.

My 12 week bloods have come back as 1 in 66 for downs and 1 in 36 for Edward’s and Patau’s. I know part of this is down to my age (39).

I’m a bit beside myself right now. Booked for NIPT blood test in the morning.

Does anyone have any experience to share?

@curliegirlie oh wow so such a high figure to be out of. Im currently 32 and already have a 8 year old and never had this with my first pregnancy so is all new to me. How was your birth? Did ultrasounds show signs of DS with your daughter?
Congratulations on your recent pregnancy too!

Hi all. I just wanted to pop in a comment that I hope will be reassuring for some.

My beautiful son had Patau's and died during labour. It was extremely obvious* *at our first scan (which we had at 16 weeks) that there were major anomalies. They diagnosed him pretty much from the scan itself.

Obviously blood results are unpredictable and downright scary, but if I had another pregnancy I would find a normal scan reassuring.

Very best of luck to you all.

Just want to update on my post, so my NIPT test came back low risk for all 3 conditons. I just want to thank everyone who shared their personal stories and also their advice. It really was appreciated and helped in such a scary and worrying time.
