Can pain on one side be anything other than ectopic pregnancy?

I’m 17 DPO and had a positive pregnancy test a few days ago. Since around a week post ovulation I’ve been feeling the odd twinge around my right ovary kinda area. In the last day though, it’s become more regular, though still a mild twinge of pain rather than cramping. My lower back is also achey and has been for about a week. No spotting or other symptoms except tiredness. I’m really scared as everything I’ve seen online about one sided pain points to ectopic pregnancy. Does anyone have any thoughts or advice? I’m going to call my GP tomorrow but they are totally useless and it’s hard to even get through most of the time, let alone get an appointment. Is there anywhere else I can contact for advice instead? Any thoughts welcome. Thank you!

I think I remember googling this a lot with my first and you can also get ovarian cysts in early pregnancy that cause similar discomfort on one side! Keep a very close eye though and always best to call if you are concerned but I expect the GP / EPU would only be really concerned if it was paired with bleeding at this stage? I'm not sure sorry to not be of more help! Good luck x

Corpeus luteum cysts was what they're called!

My friend had really bad cramping on one side, they gave her an early scan to rule out ectopic and her baby was in the right place. Said baby is 18 years old. It can be many things.

I’d been having pain on one side on and off, then this morning it suddenly became very intense. Am only six weeks but have been scanned at hospital this morning and the doctor said it’s a ruptured luteum cyst. They said it shouldn’t affect the pregnancy (although it was extremely painful this morning) and the pregnancy was were it should be. I was worried about ectopic too.

All the best with your pregnancy and congratulations!

i agree as it’s probably this as i’ve had this twice been scanned and told it’s this, the pain comes and goes when i had them.

i’ve also had a ectopic pregnancy, i have no pain when it ruptured but did have pain during implantation.. i was sat in tesco car park hunched over with right side groin pain and couldn’t move for 5 mins, i text my friend and now looking back at the dates that was when it was implanting but after that 5 mins of pain had nothing else.

if you are really worried contact EPU,sending you luck!

My first pregnancy was ectopic. It gave me so much anxiety on my second one. I remember having pains on my left side, which had been the side that had released the egg on that previous pregnancy and I thought I was having the same. There are some pains that are stretching pains from your uterus. I also had cysts as they mentioned above. It's most likely nothing.
