When to start maternity leave with placenta previa

I am 24 weeks now. I need to apply my maternity leave soon.

I have complete placenta previa - has gone up a little bit but still classified as previa. I also have subchronic hematoma.

Wondering when will be the best time to start maternity leave - in dilemma between 37 weeks and 38 weeks.

If you had placenta previa, when did you deliver ? please share your experience and thoughts.

Hi, I'm not working currently, but I too have placenta previa, currently completely covering the cervix, though on a private scan it might have moved slightly, but not 100 per cent sure.
I'm under the fetal medicine unit and have had one scan which confirmed the placenta previa. I have a another appointment at the fetal medicine unit for another scan next week
I've been told if it doesn't move by I think more than 20mm away from the cervix, will be a c section which could be at 37 weeks, if it's moved more than 20mm there's a option of vaginal birth.
I've been told to rest, no heavy lifting, avoid sex etc.

Mine moved up enough by 32 weeks, most tend to move they should hopefully scan you again at 32 weeks to check. I technically put that I would go on leave on the due date but ended up having my son at 35 weeks (due to preeclampsia) so it got started then instead.

I’m pregnant again, luckily no placenta previa this time and I have put 39 weeks this time- when I’m due to have a csection. I can work from home the last two weeks so it’s an easier end to work.

I had placenta previa with a twin pregnancy. It actually moved up to the "Safe" zone at about 35 weeks, although I had a scheduled c-section for 37 weeks already set anyway. 37 weeks is considered full term for twins. I had no issues at delivery. I would say 37 weeks is safe and you will be ready for the rest by then anyway.

I had placenta previa, luckily it moved. I stopped work the day before my due date and delivered at 41+2.

My colleague who had her child shortly afterwards had previa, didn't move and had a big bleed resulting in EMCS at 34 weeks.

When I was diagnosed with previa another member of staff spoke to me about their experience of it not moving, and it was fine and had a c section at 38 weeks, no bleeds or issues.

Make your plans assuming all will be fine and you can pull it in if needed.

I had placenta praevia and started my mat leave unexpectedly when I had a bleed at 31ish weeks. I had no idea I had it so the bleed was terrifying as I thought I was miscarrying. I had to stay within a 10 mins drive of the hospital after that so wasn't able to go back to the office. DC was born at 35 weeks after another smaller bleed then a bigger one but I was already in hospital by the time of the final one so all fine.

I had partial placenta previa. It moved, but not enough, so they did a C-section at 36 weeks.
