Hello,

I'm 17 weeks 2 days I know I'm early for constant kicks but she's so active as my placenta is at the back I also have something called low pap a which makes me extra worried it's been 3 days I've tried all the tricks nothing working I've phoned midwife and they basically said it's normal but this don't feel normal...3 days nothing feels too long I know it's early but when she's been so active for weeks on end then nothing is slightly concerning. They got another midwife ringing me today... any advice please?

At this stage baby is so small chances are they've just moved to a position where you can't feel them
But I'd be pushing to be seen in person for the midwife to check the baby's heartbeat, to err on the side of caution.

I’d definitely call up and ask to be seen, or even do a private scan if you can. The baby is still small but better to get checked out :)

My antenatal unit saw me for reduced movements at 19 weeks, I think, partly because I was very anxious and weepy and they wanted to make sure I was okay. I'd been feeling movements for a few weeks but a midwife at the unit scanned me and said once a day is a sign everything is okay. I'd push to be seen ❤️

Try calling back and explaining your anxiety. But just try to remember, baby is so small still and has a LOT of room to move around in there so she's probably just slipped into a position where you can't feel her. I completely get how scary it is though. Definitely call the hospital back and tell them how worried you are, they should offer to see you because of that 💛

I would phone back and explain you’re worried, it is likely that since the baby is so small then they are kicking your back now and you can’t feel it.

My midwife always brought me in to listen to a heart beat and then referred to hospital whenever I was worried so push to be seen.

I'm currently waiting for a phone call which they said was first thing but heard nothing on average now that it's been 3 days how long is too long to go even if baby has moved positions??

Think it's difficult to say how long on average as it's more usual to have constant kicks later on (from memory 24 weeks but I may be wrong)

So it's not unusual to feel nothing or very little/inconcistent movements before then as others have said

I felt movement early with my second pregnancy and similarly they stopped suddenly at around 18 weeks. It was simply that the baby had changed position and I just wasn't feeling it anymore

But I think I'd push to go in and be checked for your own piece of mind more than anything as I'm sure it's just baby changed position

Please try not to worry. I could feel baby from 14 weeks and I’m now 27. I’ve been in fro reduced movements this week and I can feel everything when the monitor was on and had no movements in between. I was referred for urgent scans and investigations and everything is fine - he’s 50th percentile and over 2lb. He, for some reason, isn’t moving unless stressed by the Doppler so they’re checking me daily but it’s just one of those things.

At 17 weeks baby is teeny and I often had a very quiet 48/72 hours
