It's fairly common to feel that your brain has been removed in early pregnancy isn't it?

I feel like my brain has been removed and replaced with soggy cotton wool. Am trying to work and have just realised I have been staring absently at the desk for the last 20 minutes...

I'm struggling to remember my last pregnancy and how I felt - but I do remember feeling fairly vague..

Oh yes. Completely normal. This heat doesn't help.

lizziemun · 12/05/2008 10:40

yes, unfortunley i lost some of mine when pg with dd1 in 2003 and then lost even more last year when pg with dd2.

I am just waiting for it to come back .

Cheers girls!

I do remember sitting at a roundabout for ages last time around whilst cars beeped at me from my left and I smiled vaguely at them!

Yup. My favourite story was of someone - I think a Mumsnetter - who cooked her dh a lovely meal, served it all up, and then took it to the bin and scraped it all in, to start the washing up! She just missed out on the one stage of remembering to put it on the table and get him to come and eat it!

I was just all over the place when pg!

Notquitegrownup · 12/05/2008 10:43

LOL Hattyyellow. I did exactly that too!

hattyyellow · 12/05/2008 10:45

Notquite that's brilliant! I can just imagine doing that - am definitely at the stage of struggling not to put the teabags back in the fridge and the milk back in the cupboard..

But how on earth do I get my report written when my brain is fudge? I'm struggling to even read a line of it!

Oh yes, absence of brain in early pregnancy, v. common. Is there any chance your report could wait till the second trimester when you may be slightly more lucid. Forget 3rd trimester too - back to old nappy brain till way beyond the birth

hattyyellow · 12/05/2008 11:02

Lol franke - will have a word with the client.

"I'm afraid your report certainly cannot be done today as I need to sit in the garden with a cold drink and stare at the daisies"..

Most common thing I do is to sit on the loo without taking my knickers off...I lost count of the amount of times I did that in my last pg.
Now just found out preggies again and done it twice in the last week...

dobbins · 12/05/2008 19:44

Totally normal- still like this at 22 weeks and it's getting worse, not better. Forgetting people's names, appointments... d'oh!!!!

choufleur · 12/05/2008 19:46

still don't think i've really got mine back and ds is 2!
