Sitting for too long

Slightly worrying myself now - any advice useful.

yesterday, I was sat for 2.5hrs straight at a table with friends. I am normally quite concious of how long I am sat for, and the need to move around.
I do not like what I have read online, and fear I could have affected baby. I am 37 weeks pregnant.
Has anyone else sat for prolonged periods and all been OK?

many thanks.

People sit at their desks all day working throughout pregnancy

It's fine!

At 37 weeks pregnant I imagine most women spend a significant portion of the day sitting down. Why on earth would it pose a problem?

I’d read things around compromised circulation :/ that is the only thing which has got me questioning it.

I recently sat for 5 hours straight on a flight, only getting up occasionally to go to the toilet. At night people lie down for hours on end whilst sleeping. My midwife has never mentioned anything at all about sitting down or being still as a risk factor. What triggered you to look it up in the first place? I can't imagine any of the sources you looked at would have been especially reputable.

With only 3 weeks to go, I can't imagine there's much you could do now that would cause significant damage to your baby. Enjoy the fact that you can sit for 2+ hours undisturbed for now!

Thank you for your post!

I’ve definitely become more anxious as time has passed. We have a c-section booked in a couple weeks due to her position which has affected movements throughout the whole third trimester.
Hoping the worry will pass😅

Op, there are women who are put on bed rest and literally not allowed to move other than to pee for months. We also sleep at least 5 hours a night, plus I'm pretty sure we're all sat down on the evenings chilling out for longer.
Sitting down for 2 and a half hours (which is a commute to work for some) will be absolutely okay.

Oh good grief, I had PGP and sat for basically the entire third trimester in my pregnancies. Babies fine.

If you tend towards anxiety you need to put coping mechanisms in place, because trust me it gets much much worse once they are born.

I don't understand what you're worried about?

Oh that must’ve been so tricky! Thank you for your post.
I will definitely try and be proactive about the anxiety in seeking help when baby is born.
