Misdiagnosed vanishing twin syndrome and potential bicornuate uterus

This is my first pregnancy and I’m nervous so it could be a long rambley post - sorry!
I went to an early scan when I thought I was 8 weeks pregnant. The sonographer told me I was actually 6 weeks and that she thought I had a vanishing twin syndrome - there were 2 sacs, one with a foetus with a heartbeat and the other one completely empty. She checked all around my uterus to see and said everything looked okay and definitely no sign of a second foetus.
I went for another scan at 8 weeks in a different place because the vanishing twin syndrome info threw me. Here they said that I had a healthy foetus with a strong heartbeat and there was another foetus measuring 6 weeks 3 days but no detectable heartbeat. She advised I had another scan in 2 weeks and suggested it could catch up or I could miscarry the second foetus. She also mentioned that she thought I had a bicornuate uterus and both sacs were in the left side. She proceeded to reassure me that it shouldn’t cause any problems. This was not added to any of my notes or referred to an NHS team.
I did the worst thing and googled it and it doesn’t look good. There’s a higher chance of miscarriage and the chance of carrying twins is 500 million to one.

Previously I have had 3 scans (one for this pregnancy and 2 for unrelated medical investigations) and no one has ever mentioned about a bicornuate uterus. Should I be worried? Could it be a misdiagnosis or very mild if it wasn’t added to my notes? Has anyone had a twin foetus that has shown a heartbeat at a later scan?

Wondering how you are getting on? I hope all is well.

I have just been diagnosed with a bicorante uterus but this has never been mentioned to me before even during pregnacy scans, I had 4 scans before losing our son at 23 weeks so I'm very confused and nervous about what this means for future pregnancies as we are TTC. I have contacted a private fertility specalist to get a second opinion and advise on what this means for growing our family. I hope you got some answers and reassurance from your doctors!
