Right shoulder pain

I am 33 weeks pregnant and have had this persistent right shoulder pain for the past 6 hours.

I had 2 paracetamols a couple of hours ago, but they haven't made a difference.

I am not sure what else to do right now. Google tells me that the right shoulder pain could be very normal or could be a sign of pre eclempsia.

I am trying not to overthink it as i had pain in my right arm a couple of days ago along with some itching, and I went in to get checked. They did an OC blood test, and it was normal.

Just looking for advice what shall i do? Anyone.with similar experiences or any advice?

Contact 111 or your maternity unit, it can be a sign of appendicits and other things.

Well how long will you wait to see if it goes away?
Do you sleep on that side? Does it feel muscular ( when you move it) or a sharp pain like shoulder tip pain?

I'd probably go in because it's just going to stress you out regardless.

I called Maternity triage, they said it's not pregnancy related as i can feel the baby move and no other symptoms related to pre eclemspia.

They advised me to call 111 to rule out any cardiac issues but it was 1 am in the morning, i didn't call them.

Now I couldn't get appointment at gp surgery this morning due to them being at full capacity and I have the same shoulder pain as soon as i have woken up.

It's in back of my shoulder , kind of strated near the right neck and spread into whole shoulder. It's bad that it's making me wince and stopping me from carrying on with usual acitivties.

I’d go to walk in then

The way you’ve described the pain and its location makes me think it’s likely a pinched nerve as I’ve had this exact thing before and it was very painful. Try lots of stretching and rolling your shoulders back and forth, and use a spiky ball or tennis ball on it to try to work the knot out,

As far as pre eclampsia, if you don’t have a headache, upper abdominal pain, or swollen legs then that’s reassuring, but you could nip into your GP surgery or a chemists to check your blood pressure if you’re worried. If you have any of those symptoms and/or your BP is high then you should definitely go to maternity triage.

I am inclined to think it's mosf likely muscular pain due to lack of any other symptoms.

I am gonna take codine now and see if that makes a difference.

Thank you everyone for your replies.
