Festivals?

Am I crazy to consider buying tickets to a music festival when I'll be 7 months pregnant at the time?

It's a fairly relaxed, folky type one. Friends aren't crazy drunk types - there'll be kids/ families with us. Options for camping or glamping (bell tent type thing with mattress).

Should I do it? Have you? Any tips??

It really depends how things end up going Nd it’s impossible to know that! My daughter is nearly 10 months old now but I could have done that at 7 months pregnant if I wanted to. We went and stayed in a glamping tent type thing in the Lakes when I was about 7 months pregnant which had a similar blow up bed (but a tall one, not one 2 inches thick) and spent 3 days walking miles on our fav walks, I was more tired than I’d have been not-pregnant and a bit achey but I really enjoyed it and it was all doable, extra breaks and rests but we had a fab time. If I was doing this festival I’d book the best accommodation possible to get the best bed possible, it’d be the lack of sleep and not having somewhere comfy to rest that would spoil it for me so try to avoid that.

It is just luck of the draw with pregnancy though because while I would have been absolutely fine doing that I have 2 friends who wouldn’t have been, one who suffered badly with SPD from 20 weeks so couldn’t have managed that and the other had sickness return in final trimester plus back and hip pain so a blow up bed in a field would have been her worst nightmare by 7 months. Everyone is different!

One of the most annoying symptoms in later pregnancy is needing the toilet more often. Is this likely to be problematic at that festival?

I think you might be a little ambitious unless you have a good idea what type of pregnancy you'll be having. I went to a gig at close to that level of pregnancy and I was having issues with my back and pelvis by then so I couldn't manage so much standing and was quite uncomfortable. By 7 months I couldn't walk very well due to pgp. But there was a lady who looked about as pregnant as me if not maybe further along who was dancing away and having a blast. So it really depends on how you're feeling. Would you know people you could sell the tickets on to if you decided you weren't able for it closer to the time?

Absolutely! Go for it and enjoy yourself.
admittedly I was only 19wks but I did Leeds Fest and camping pregnant.
I’s definitely do it again. Been taking my daughter to gigs and festivals since I was pregnant with her, she’s 19 now!

Every pregnancy is different so it really depends how you'd be feeling at that point! I know for me, I'm 34+4 and the thought of being anywhere but my own house is tragic 😂😂😂 I'm such a home body. but if you think you'd be up for it go for it!

Thanks all! Sounds a bit mixed. It's my first pregnancy so I have no idea what I'll feel like.

I'd really like to do it, but I guess I'll look into whether the ticket might be resale-able/ refundable just in case!

Even if it wasn't your first pregnancy, you've no idea how you would feel because each pregnancy is so different. First pregnancy I was out every weekend until the weekend before I had her. Second pregnancy I wasn't able for anything, but my friend who was due her second the same time as me was at a music festival at 7 months pregnant. Buy the tickets but have a backup plan of selling them on if you can't go.
