How to know if waters are slowly leaking

The past two nights this has happened now, I went bed and slept for hour or two and woke up needing a wee and got up peed and when I wiped liquid started to trickle out. It was a whiteish colour and watery , it had no smell from what I could smell .
im only 30 weeks

I personally found my waters had quite a semen-y smell to them, but if you’re in any doubt at all go to your maternity unit and they’ll do a swab to check.
Better to go and get it confirmed as if it is your waters, you need to get your options confirmed to you. Good luck!

Agree with PP, if you do think it’s your waters call your maternity unit and go get swabbed to check

I had the same as what you described last week OP, I got swabbed at my local maternity unit and they confirmed it wasn't my waters. Still pregnant at 41 weeks today and no sign of him coming out yet ... 🤪

I recall the community midwife telling me that if this happened to put a disposable sanitary/maternity pad into underwear and go and get checked out (they may check the pad). The midwife was very matter of fact and said it could be wee or waters and they would need to check. I hope all will be ok with you and your baby.

Always get checked out. However, I was worried about this in my last pregnancy and the advice I was given by a midwife was that if you put on a thick sanitary pad and it's not soaked through after about an hour, it's unlikely to be your waters. I think mine was a mixture of urine leakage and watery discharge. I was probe to thrush in my pregnancies but it was clear, watery discharge rather than the thick yeasty type.

Always go to your maternity unit if you suspect waters leaking. You're preterm and high risk for infection if it is actually your waters (hopefully not). The longer you leave it the bigger the risk so not wise to wait 2 days. Hope the tests are negative but no sense in not getting checked.

You have to go get it swabbed!

I found out I was slowly leaking waters as I'd heard a pop in the night and went for a wee and tried to hold it in As they say you can't do this if it's waters leaking and it stopped so thought great just a wee yet slow labour for rest of day and when I told maternity about the pop they said deffos get checked and yes it was my waters slowly leaking. Long story short go get checked just to be sure!

@chickenwings2 i got a swab done today and it was negative so not sure what it is other than just discharge

I hate having to have thing done down there but definitely to be safe
