Dear mums & alike,

I am looking for some opnions and advice (I have seen related threads, but this is quite particular). My partner, is due (first time) end of June. She has a 5cm fibroid, on the left where here placenta is.

We are currently registered with Broomfield and have extra scans, etc to keep an eye and track the fibroid. So, in this respect, all good 👍.

What I am concerend about, is where to give birth? - we need extra care and attention. Reading the CQC reports scare me.

We were looking at the Rosie hospital in Cambridge. Any recommendations?
Anyone with fibroid experience?

She is an ethnic minority, so we feel we need to be confident with our maternity care.

Is the intention that she'll have a planned caesarean? How far actually is the Rosie from you? I would think seriously about travelling a long way knowing you've got to come back post surgery and with a newborn. That said, I was very unhappy with my maternity care at Broomfield so do appreciate your concerns.

There’s a high probability. We’d prefer natural delivery. But, have to accept reality. It’s around a 90min drive.

safety is my priority. Though, I’ll meditate on your words. Thanks

I think if you are hoping for a natural, and so unscheduled, delivery then a 90 minute journey may literally not be possible - it wouldn't have been for either of mine. I'm not sure I would think it safe for a high-risk pregnancy, either. It might be better to work on trying to be sure the right plan is in place for Broomfield than focusing on another option and potentially getting very upset if it turns out not to be possible in the event?

Broomfield was terrible - for my 2nd I used harlow and they surprised me with how good they were

i think you are right. I need to ensure plans are in place. Your justification for avoiding a long drive makes sense. May I ask, what was it about Broomfield that let you down? - I just really want to nail this and be there for my partner and lower the risk.
