Would I still be getting 3+ on Clearblue if I am miscarrying?

Hi everybody. I know the short answer is that nobody really knows and that the clearblue tests are not scientific and reliable indicators of a viable pregnancy but I am in limbo land until my scan on Tuesday so I am looking for similar stories/a hand hold.

So backstory, I have two DC and had 3 MCs in between them. I found out just over a fortnight ago that I am (extremely unexpectedly) pregnant again, which would make me 6+4 today. I had some very very light pink mucus last week which I basically tried to shrug off as had the same with DC2 at same gestation and it worked out. Then on Sunday evening just gone I got some bright red bleeding which has continued to today. I would describe it as first day of a period. Light but constantly there and much more than spotting. I was heartbroken as we’d just got our heads around a third and now it looked like we were losing our 4th pregnancy.

I called the EPU yesterday as the bleeding hadn’t got any worse or any better and they booked me in for a scan on Tuesday. I have had 3 x 3+ results on clear blue, once at 5+1, one on Friday (after the pink spotting) and one just now.

So my question is would my hcg not be dropping enough now after 4 days of bleeding for the weeks to be going down? It wasn’t fmu and with my MCs the weeks never progressed beyond 1-2 weeks. I haven’t had ‘strong’ pregnancy symptoms at all really apart from occasional nausea and tender breasts which hasn’t changed.

I know even if I were miscarrying that tests would show positive but would they show 3+ still? Thank you if you got this far.

Yes, sadly, as the previous poster has said and from my own personal experience, it can take up to 6 weeks before your hormones drop.
