Hi loves, I got an vaginal infection which the doctor said i should avoid gel or cleanser specifically for your vagina, and told me to wash it only with water. But I can'tttt only water?? Like I know water is the purest liquid but the smell or whatever i think it should be something else for cleaning down there.
I heard about dove soap ( unscented), i want to know yours opinion about vaginal hygiene what you use to clean, because I cannot clean it only with water it doesn't make sense, maybe it's the best way but I can't see myself cleaning only with water. I'm that type of person that take care of the hygiene and smell and everything but only with water it is so challenging for me🥹
Pls if you can tell me your experience and what you use

Do what your doctor said. It is actually recommended that you only wash your vulva with warm water anyway, even in the case of no infections. Soaps can disburse the delicate PH balance of your vulva and can exacerbate or even cause infection. Considering you have an active infection and have been given direct care instructions from your doctor, not doing so would be doing a disservice to your recovery.

*Disturb not disburse.

To be a bit vulgar - a vagina will be a lot more fresh being washed with water, than with an infection. So if soaps/ wash products bring on an infection, you'll feel a lot more yucky down there than just using water.

But honestly water is fine. Your vagina produces moisture/discharge for a reason, even though you might prefer a foof smelling of roses, it isn't meant to smell that way for a reason.

Hope you get sorted

Vaginas are self cleaning and need to maintain a particular ph balance to remain healthy. Putting feminine washes, douches, soaps, etc up there is just asking for trouble. The more soaps, gels, etc you use in there, the more likely you are to irritate it and cause BV, thrush and infections.

Obviously, cleaning well around the outside with a very gentle soap is fine, but nothing else should be touching it but water.
