Hi loves, I'm currently 11 weeks pregnant, so it's kind of early to talk about the baby gender, but I would love to hear your experiences: some symptoms that you had while pregnant with a boy and a girl, a part from the main symptoms that we all know, i wanted to hear your experience and the difference how it felt.
I seriously don't have any idea about the gender, all i wish is a healthy baby but sometimes i also think about the gender 😅😏
All i can say is i keep eating a lot of salty food, moody all time, tired so much, tired to do my own makeup, breakups on my face, more acnes than normal...
what about you guys🥹🫶🏽

Congratulations OP! I think it's a bit of fun to look at symptoms and guess gender, but I also don't think there's any truth to it its just for fun🤭 I always fell into a little of both categories when you look up boy or girl symptoms...lots of sickness until 17 weeks, salty foods, great skin and hair etc. and I had a boy.

Largely speaking I think it's not possible to tell. However, from my personal experience (and the plural of anecdote is not data)

  • 3 women (me inc) who craved salt and vinegar crisps (mainly Squares) all pregnant with girls

Literally the only thing I can think was even slightly similar.

Oh, and I had bad pelvis/hip pain with my son, but I've not heard that from other mums of sons.

kiana2015 · 01/02/2025 00:02

Congratulations! I had a girl, my symptoms were:
Horrendous morning sickness, started at 6 weeks every single morning on my way to work, fine the rest of the day, around 9 weeks it was constant, calmed after 15 weeks the. It was just occasionally.

Very very calm, before pregnancy I was firey, argumentative, always speaking my mind, through pregnancy I was unphased by everything.

hardtocare · 01/02/2025 00:06

First baby- constant nausea for 9 months, craved pineapple and crisps= GIRL

Second baby- odd vom when I over exerted, terrible constipation from before positive test, wanted to stuff my face with chocolate and sour sweets throughout- GIRL

So basically wildly different symptoms, cravings, experiences and two same sex girls. Makes me think it's all old wives tales

I had this pain my my girl

My symptoms were exactly the same just much worse SPD and PGP each time and had a mix of sexes so I have concluded it's totally random.

DC1 and DC2. Couldn't bear the smell of cooked meat! Lived on clementines!! Queasy in the evenings. Both girls.

DC3 no symptoms at all but craved burgers = boy!

Brooomhilda · 01/02/2025 03:22

I've got a 3yo girl and am pregnant with another girl. The two pregnancies are polar opposites! First I was only sick in second trimester, this time I was sick only in 1st. Loads of weight gain last time, very minimal this time. Last time I couldn't eat anything green (olives, avocado, grapes) as they made me vomit, this time no food aversions. Last time I felt kicks from 15 weeks, this time not until 19 weeks. I craved salty last time and I don't really crave anything this time. It's completely different but they're the same sex!

I have had a girl followed by a boy and I knew straight away he was a boy. He had longer legs and I actually had a different smell about me. I had a scan at 32 weeks because of slight bleeding and it was confirmed to be a boy. I then went out and got some boy outfits. Just to add I didn’t care what gender both my children were as long as they were healthy. I had no idea I was having a girl with my first pregnancy and she was announced at her birth

RickiRaccoon · 01/02/2025 04:12

I didn't find out either time. I thought I was pregnant with a girl but he was a boy. Then I had the same symptoms again and thought it was a boy again but she was a girl. So I don't think there's a difference -- and clearly I am terrible at predicting gender.

YouWouldntKnowWhatIMean · 01/02/2025 04:24

I had morning sickness all 3 times - absolutely horrendous the first time, vomiting multiple times a day for the whole pregnancy, slightly better the second two times and I have 3 boys. Apparently my first I "carried like a girl" - according to MIL - no idea what that means but she was shocked he was a boy! I didn't really have any cravings any of the 3 times. I didn't notice any changes to hair / skin. I felt bone tired each time - pregnancy is hard work!

allfurcoatnoknickers · 01/02/2025 04:42

HG both times 🙃. Although with the boy it lasted until week 39 and the girl only until week 25, but it was so bad with DD that at one point I couldn't sit up without vomiting.

PreferMyAnimals · 01/02/2025 05:04

I have multiple of each sex. Other than feeling sicker with the boys as far as morning sickness, there isn't a pattern. They're all similar and different in a variety of ways. You really can't tell.

sel2223 · 01/02/2025 06:06

I'm pregnant with our second daughter and the two pregnancies have been absolute night and day - so much so, I was 100% convinced I was having a boy this time as it's been so different.

I'd take any suggestion of symptoms being sex based as just a fun old wives tale

Battisborough · 01/02/2025 07:01

Pregnancy 1: very sick for 17 weeks, huge weight gain everywhere, only wanted to eat carbs and sugar, aversion to green veg: GIRL

Pregnancy 2: slightly less sick and only for 13 weeks. Moderate weight gain. Aversion to meat, wanted to eat fruit: GIRL

Pregnancy 3: very little weight gain and only moderate nausea. No aversions. BOY

pregnancy 4: same as pregnancy 2: BOY.

so no rhyme nor reason there

rja0702 · 01/02/2025 07:45

First pregnancy - Girl. Nausea started at 6 weeks until about 20 weeks. After then could eat quite normal. Hardly any weight gain.

Second pregnancy - Boy. Nausea started about 8 weeks, not as intense but lasted a lot longer and food aversions were strong. Towards the end, my dinner consisted of spaghetti on toast every night Envy he's 3 months now and Iv not eaten them since Grin. Also in second trimester, I experienced really bad headaches

autumngirl714 · 01/02/2025 08:47

1st pregnancy -
Nausea, craved all the carbs, pulled the weight on, v emotional, low bump.
Boy.

2nd pregnancy -
Worse nausea, craved sweets and chocolate, complete exhaustion, intense headaches, high bump.
Boy.

If you really want to know early, have a look and see if you can work out the nub based on the nub theory after your 12 week scan! It can be very accurate if it's visible!

Cornflakes123 · 01/02/2025 11:23

I’ve had 3 pregnancies. First 2 no sickness whatsoever and barely any symptoms in first trimester (first one sore boobs, second one not even sore boobs)
3rd pregnancy vomiting every day in first trimester.
all 3 were boys. I don’t think the babies sex has anything to do with the symptoms at all.
