15 weeks - no bump + don’t feel pregnant

I’m so worried. I have no bump at all (and I’m a size 8) and sickness has faded. Others seem to have huge bumps at this stage!!!

I have an NHS 16 week scan next week (because of previous losses). I’m worried as my 12 week scan was quite early, at 12+1. So the baby could have still died in trimester 1 (at 12+3 for example) and just be a MMC. My previous losses were MMC, although those were diagnosed at 12 week scan.

Has anyone been through similar? Anyone else totally bumpless at 15 weeks?

I was totally bumpless as well. Also a size 8 with strong stomach muscles.

i only told people I was pregnant at 26 weeks and nobody had guessed, bump came out a few weeks after that. I had no morning sickness etc, no sign I was pregnant other than scans etc. I looked the least pregnant person in the waiting room 😂

don’t see it as a concern all bodies are different

Is this your first? That's totally normal especially if you're slim

sel2223 · 29/01/2025 12:09

Who has a huge bump at this stage? It's actually more normal not to be showing at all yet, especially if it's your first - those that are, it's pretty much all bloat at 15 weeks.

This stage of pregnancy between the 12 and 20 week scan is always a bit of a limbo stage as symptoms often start to fade or disappear, there's no real bump yet and most women haven't yet felt any movements. The 'not feeling pregnant' thing is very common.

In my first pregnancy I didn't get a proper bump until I was about 30 weeks, i just looked like I'd had a big meal! I went for an unrelated MRI at 28 weeks and the sonographer literally couldn't believe I was pregnant as I had no bump at all when I lay down. I also didn't feel any movements until 22+ weeks so had a long time in this weird limbo zone.

Thanks for sharing your experiences, it’s encouraging to know it can be normal. I have a friend who is a month ahead of me and she’s had a bump for ages now! But good to know that no bump can be normal too x

I didn't get a bump until about 33 weeks pregnant and even then it wasn't noticeable under baggy clothes. Totally normal for some people!

One line of advice which helps me in many walks of life is

'Comparison is the thief of joy'

Comparing with others all the time will take away all the happiness and joy from your own experiences. Try not to do it.

I’m size 6 and didn’t have a bump until about 2 weeks ago - I’m now 25 weeks. I went to a training day with work at 23 weeks and someone actually said to me that they had heard I was pregnant but obviously got it wrong…I said no I’m 23 weeks so don’t worry it will come and when it does you’ll be wishing you were back to the days of little to no bump lol. My symptoms completely went away from 12-20 weeks (I was so sick first 12 weeks) and I kept actually saying to my husband I felt worried because I didn’t feel pregnant at all. My first pregnancy was completely different, I showed early and was exhausted all the time so just goes to show every pregnancy is different.

Is this first baby? I didn’t get a bump til well over week 20 first time around and didn’t really feel kicks for ages as placenta was in the way. I know it’s worrying but when you get further along these things average out

WildCherryBlossom · 29/01/2025 12:22

This is so normal. You are in the phase when the morning sickness has faded away and you kind of feel normal again. In the next 2 or 3 weeks you must start to feel slight fluttering of movement which will get stronger and easier to recognise and then a bump will likely emerge (although some people just barely show even when very slim)

LostittoBostik · 29/01/2025 12:22

If you're tall it's common not to get a bump til very late with your first

I'm very short and was visible with my first by 10 weeks. It's all about body shape and not the baby

Urgh - can't edit on app. Meant to say you "may" start to feel flutterings - not "must". Not everybody does. There is a very wide range of normal when it comes to pregnancy.

I don’t as a size 6 and quite fit and my bump didn’t appear until 32 weeks and it was tiny but hard and she’s 18 now!

OptimisticRealist2024 · 29/01/2025 12:26

@Connie0000 I'm 19+2 with my first and no bump yet. My body has barely changed at all.

For what it's worth, I think if they see a heartbeat at 12 weeks it's still very unlikely that something will go wrong (but I know from experience that it's easier to say that than believe it). ❤️ I think the statistic is if there's a heartbeat at 10 weeks it's 99.4% viable, and gets lower every day and week after that.

All the best for the rest of your pregnancy 😊🤞🏼
