Baby position help?

I'm struggling to figure out which way my baby is lying. So there's something round to one side of my belly button, I'm wondering if this is their head? Across the middle of my bump I feel squirms and like a wavy feeling when baby moves. Lower down I feel movements, but not sure if they're little kicks or punches? Don't really feel anything high up. Any hiccups I feel are to the same side of my belly button where I'm wondering if the head could be. Does this sound like baby is breech? Maybe transverse? I'm nearly 32 weeks and getting a bit anxious that they're the wrong way. 😟

Honestly, I am absolutely clueless with this. I feel kicks in several random places and have been told by midwife and from a scan that baby is 'frank breech' which means legs up to head, bum down basically. This doesn't compute at all with where I'm feeling the kicks though so it's got me baffled (I'm also 32 weeks)

Have you got a midwife appointment or scan coming up? They can tell you then.

You don't need to worry about position until you're 36+ weeks. I was transverse at 31 weeks, breech at 34, then head down at 36 weeks (had felt her turn maybe 2 days prior). There's still plenty of time and your midwife will examine you at your appointments and if any uncertainty at the 36 week one then you will get sent for a scan to confirm - they won't do this before as no point as likely to go head down by then.

So don't stress yet! I can say this with hindsight now as I did stress myself out worrying too!

@sel2223 That's confusing if you feel kicks all over! I have a midwife appointment in a few days, so will definitely ask her. Baby was breech last time and I do think they've moved since, but don't think they've turned very far! I just can't make sense of it. 🙈

My baby was breech and remained so throughout. The head is harder and bottom more squishy, so I often felt a hard lump under my ribs which was baby’s head, as well as strong kicks down towards my bum and more gentle punches higher up. I did think perhaps baby had turned at one point because I felt hiccups low down, but they hadn't. There is no point in worrying either way, there is still plenty of time and even if baby doesn’t turn head down, a breech baby isn’t the worst thing in the world.

Thank you @Ihatewinding very kind of you, that's reassuring. I have read the same thing, but its hard not to worry isn't it!

I was convinced my baby was breech at around this stage in my first pregnancy, I was feeling what I thought were kicks down low, my midwife did a scan at one of my appointments that happened to be at a birthing centre for a look around, baby was not breech and my husband had been lovingly talking to its bum for weeks because we really thought that was its head wedged around my ribs.
I assume my baby was more of a puncher than a kicker!

Edited

I don't necessarily feel them all over, just in places I wouldn't expect for the apparent position they're in.
So, I'll feel kicks really low down near my public bone for example yet babies feet are apparently up by her head.
Or I'll be sure I can feel her head near my ribs but then I'll feel hiccups in a completely different place.
Very weird.

As a pp said though, it's nothing to be concerned with regardless until you get closer to labour but it's natural to be curious
