How sick have I been?

I asked about sickness tablets but my doctor said I’m not sick enough. I’m not sure if I’ve said how sick I am incorrectly. I am stuck in the bathroom 5/6 times a day, so I told the doctor that I was sick 5/6 times a day, however these 5 or 6 times I’m stuck in the bathroom for about an hour and I might throw up 8-12 times (sometimes less).
I have missed numerous days of work, or I’ve got there and spent so long in the bathroom I’ve done nothing at all and ended up waiting to stop being sick so I can set off home. I don’t leave the house to do anything I enjoy because it just isn’t worth it. My sister is insisting this isn’t normal pregnancy sickness but my doctor is saying the opposite. Any advice? I feel really depressed at the moment because of how sick I am.

Definitely go back and ask specifically to see a different doctor. I was offered cyclizine for all-day nausea and being sick 3/4 times a day (usually first thing in the morning and then after meals). Seriously - call tomorrow and insist you get a second opinion, it's affecting your mental well-being which is reason enough on its own.

My midwife told me nobody gets medals for morning sickness. She was right!

Good luck, OP!

Not normal sickness. Ask to see a different gp

Thank you, I will do the online form now. There is a space to put which doctor so I will flag up that I’m after a second opinion. I was thinking my sister is correct because I’ve been the same for weeks and everyone that I see can tell I’m pregnant because it is impossible to hide as I’m so sick. I have spent time with people who have kept quiet so was wondering if they are lucky or normal.

I had severe hyperemesis in my first pregnancy, and was prescribed cyclizine which helped reduce the sickness to about 8-10 times a day, but came with other side effects like drowsiness. So when I got pregnant for the second time, I asked for ondanestron, which was much better at controlling the nausea and had no side effects. I had to insist on the different medication, the dr didn’t really understand hyperemesis at all.

Hypermesis is normally diagnosed when you're sick 3+ times a day and what type describing is way over that.
Your doctor is wrong
