Cervical length scans - cold coagulation

I had my 12 week scan last week which was all fine, but during my appointment afterwards the midwife told me I would be classed as high-risk for poor foetal growth, pre-eclampsia and pre-term labour due to cervical length. I came away incredibly worried.

Some of this is linked to conditions such as Raynaud’s and underactive thyroid but the cervical length is linked to the fact I had cold coagulation to remove possible abnormal cells a few years ago. The midwife asked what procedure I had, saying was it LLETZ? I told her it was cold coagulation but she said it was the same procedure and that I would need regular scans. I didn’t think it was the same procedure at all.

Has anyone else been told a cold coagulation is linked to pre-term labours and shortening cervical length? I can only really find information about the link with LLETZ.

As far as i’m aware I didn’t have cold coagulation, but did have abnormal cells removed during a colposcopy. I had a cervical length scan during my pregnancy too and was told it’s because of the risk of cervical shortening from the cells being removed, which could result in preterm labour. It seems any treatment on the cervix poses the same/a similar risk maybe?

Thanks - maybe it is just any procedure that causes a risk!
