I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant. Had a discussion with my consultant about how I would want to give birth. She recommended a c section just because of my previous 2.

First one was an emergency at 40+12 and second was an elective at 40+6. I want to try for a vagina but also said that if im over due then I would want the c section.

I'm currently pregnant with my third and just thinking. Has anyone had a successful vaginal birth after having 2 C-sections? How far along did you go?

If you have been in a similar situation to me, when were you given a c section date? I was told it would be in my 39th week. I won't find out until a few weeks time when this date will be.

I've had two vba2cs, without having been in labour with babies 1&2.

Can I ask what happened? I’d like to try for one as well.

In the ideal world, I'd have a VBA2C with my next.
I really want to experience vaginal child birth once.

First C section was failure to progress past 8cm, with DS in a really awkward position

Second was a cock up by the midwives who broke my water before I was labouring (they somehow determined me to be dilated when, in fact, I wasn't) and then at 24 hours declared I had to have a c section as I wasn't progressed enough.

For me, I'm not sure I'll try. If anything went wrong, I've now got 2 kids to consider.

I'm also not keen on several days away from the kids in hospital if it's a long induction, failed VBAC, again.

Keen to hear others' experiences.

I tried and went into labour with no 3. The consultant at the birthing suite was happy for me to try. But then when shifts changed the new consultant was horrified and put the fear of god in me. I ended up with another section. Had 4 in the end.

I've had 3 cs( 2 emcs and 1elective). I felt the same as you when pregnant with baby #3 and I was desperate to experience a vaginal birth. I felt like I'd been robbed of a vaginal birth and there was so much guilt linked to it. However, I went for the elcs in the end as I knew I had the other 2 kids to consider and as a family, we all knew roughly how the cs would span out. I actually found this a very healing process and before I had my third baby, I would think about giving birth naturally almost daily but now I can't even remember the last time I considered it. Good luck, op.

After my failed vbac with unnecessary interventions, I decided to trust that my body knew what to do and decline any sweeps etc.
Dc3 was back to back so I ended up with forceps, which I'm not convinced was entirely necessary. I'd hit the 1 hour pushing limit but baby and I were still fine.
Dc4 I pushed for and had my baby on the MLU. Such a magical birth! That time I wanted to stay away from the consultants as much as possible to avoid unnecessary interventions.

I had a VBAC2 for my fifth child on her due date. If I hadn't had her by then it would have been another section. I had to move hospitals to find a consultant who would support me. This was 15 years ago.

I had DS1 section at 10cm dilated due to fear of giving birth/big baby (first IVF baby and 15 days overdue, he was 9lbs 1oz but would have been fine if I hadn't been scared by the consultant.
DD2 was a VBAC fast (1hr) labour one week over due
DS3 and 4 section in labour due to misdiagnosed vasa previa
DD5 VBAC (9lbs 9oz)
Neither of my sections were due to failure to progress or anything that might happen again, fairly quick labours, last one was 3 hours. I felt confident I was doing the right thing.
