Nipt test low risk, combined test 1 in 135 for DS

Hello, I had a private NiPT test at 11 weeks with low risk results for 3 trisomies- fetal fraction 4%. I had nhs scan at 13+1 and combined test today and nuchal translucency 1.5, papp a 0.7, hcg 2.7. They said that the ratio between my papp an and hcg puts me at a high risk for Down syndrome 1 in 135. This result has sent me in a spiral, even though I have the NIPT test result. The NHs team that scanned me said that my NIPT test result indicate no further testing required. Has anyone had anything similar? I had a miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy last year and I was so hopeful after great scan results today. Feeling really down. Thank you

Yeah I had fairly similar situation. I did private nipT at 10 weeks - fetal fraction was only 3% - but came back low risk for everything.
My NHS 12 week combined screening came back as 1/207 for DS which got me really anxious as previous pregnancies it’s been 1 in many thousand.
I did a lot of reading up on how the tests work etc to help relieve my anxiety as I had two miscarriages prior to this pregnancy. I even ended up ringing the private test company and speaking to one of their lab technicians who explained how the nipT works which was helpful.
And in the end, I just had to focus on the NIPT being low risk. The nipt is far more accurate than the screening. Just remember, the NHS screening is simply an algorithm that is used to screen for who to give nipT to. So if your NIPT is already done and low risk that is the far more reliable one and you need to focus on that.
good luck!

Where I live, NIPT fetal fraction under 5% isn’t reliable so we’d redo it a few weeks later. Is that an option?

I had this for my second but my nhs test came back as 1/42! The reason for the high result for me was my hormone profile and age (37/8). 3 years between pregnancies made a huge difference to the numbers!! There were zero concerns on the scan.

The nhs and offered me the normal other options or a repeat of NIPT. We decided to repeat NIPT and decided it was very unlikely to be wrong twice. LO was fine! I probably didn’t need to repeat but it reassured us.

good luck op, it’s a hugely stressful time. I read the antenatal test stuff on here and found it comforting.

The nipt is more accurate so I would trust that. I got a 1/136 result on my combined screening then an NHS NIPT. that came back low risk and baby is indeed fine. I can understand that doing them the other way around has thrown you but ultimately it's the same thing and if I were you I would be happy with NIPT result

Hi I’m in a similar situation to you with similar results. What was your outcome to it all? freaking out!
