Faint positive still… Should I be worried?

I took a test the day before (Friday) my expected period (Saturday) which came up as a faint positive.

I’ve not had any period signs or symptoms and I am now 2 days past my expected period date and I am usually always bang on time.

I don’t want to get my hopes up becoming pregnant again, as we have been trying a couple of months, when all I am getting is faint positives still?

i have taken a test each day (excessive I know) but I just want to feel reassured they will get darker. Am I over thinking things? Am I too early into it to have a darker line yet? Or do I fear the worst?

the pregnancy tests below are in date order, top two are Friday, middle 2 Saturday and bottom one is this morning.

thank you

Top one looks good. I'd try a different brand or three and see how they look.

Try a pink lime test like first response.

JT287 · 14/01/2025 09:20

The pink boots test was done yesterday (not morning, was taken evening cos I got too impatient to wait)

the blue clear blue one was taken this morning.

I would be 4 weeks + 3 days at the moment - am I over testing and seeing faint lines when they would usually maybe be faint? Or are these bad signs? I am wondering if it’s best to re test on Saturday when I’d be at 5 weeks?

Those are clear positives. If you're well hydrated then it won't necessarily be as clear as if someones a bit dehydrated, but that's healthier for the pregnancy.

sel2223 · 14/01/2025 09:26

You are over testing, this isn't what they are designed for.

You've missed a period and got a positive test. You only need to worry now if you get severe pain or cramping, bleeding etc

bomalan · 14/01/2025 21:05

The newer pics definitely look positive.

I would say that the most recent blue one looks quite faint for 4+3 though.

I'd keep testing. Keep us updated!

I know I’ve been over testing but I can’t help it. The dye tests have remained the same and yet the digital clear blue have said ‘not pregnant’. Upset & confused to say the least !

Could you have ovulated later than you think?

Maybe best to go to doctor and get bloods taken, this can mean different things some people have light tests and are fine and some unfortunately are not, but its impossible to know. It can take a while for tests to turn darker for some people. If it was me in this situation again I'd go to GP and get hcg bloods done and again in 48 hrs rather than torturing myself with tests, it's the only way to truly know how things are this early xx sending you all of the well wishes

Candy24 · 15/01/2025 06:18

If digital says not id go get a blood test. Could bea chemical

JT287 · 15/01/2025 06:48

Thanks everyone for advice. My doctor say they don’t do blood tests, but I can still go see them today? I assume for advice? Would anyone know if these can be done elsewhere or privately? Thank you

That's poor from your doctor if you're unsure and it's effecting you

whatdoyouthink123456 · 15/01/2025 08:01

Did you take an early clear blue? Or a week indicator one?

I had very faint tests that didn't get darker and it ended up being an ectopic.
My week indicator tests just stayed at 1-2 weeks

Applecrumble9 · 15/01/2025 10:35

@JT287 I'm in Ireland but you can get them done privately here so I'm sure you can wherever you are too x it's the only real way of knowing to be honest, the weeks indicators aren't even accurate as I was showing 2-3 weeks on those but my blood hcg was actually 10,000+ so none of the tests can give anything more than positive or not positive. Obviously faint tests etc does raise concern but some people go on to have healthy pregnancy and then unfortunately some don't so its just impossible to say really x

I had something similar after my period was late and I assumed this was a chemical
