So this is my third pregnancy, I had my other two in a different town though. I saw my midwife for a book in appointment, then again in beginning of December. I had my 20 week scan yesterday with no follow up and nothing booked and I'm not booked in to see my midwife until April.. surely this is wrong? Don't I need measuring and just checking in general before then? I had a look on badger notes for the midwife number to call and just check with but there's nothing on there, only the maternity unit phone number at the hospital half an hour away. Not really sure what to do or even how to get in touch with my midwife. I had regular check ups with my other two pregnancies. Is this the new normal? Another thing that was strange was at my book in they asked alot of questions about my partner, but pretty much nothing about me, even his sexual history and if he has any stds but never asked about me? They don't even have on record I have a heart condition, even though I told them, even though it wasn't a question at book in. They also have given no information about vaccines, I only knew about them because of my previous babies, books myself in at the doctors for the whooping cough and rsv. I want to change midwives but I'm pretty sure you only get 1 per area, I'd have to travel which I'm unable to do. Any help or advice please... really sorry kts long winded.

When I had my dd1 I had a booking in appointment at 12 weeks, a scan at 18 weeks then a midwife appointment at 24 weeks (then 28,32,34,36 then weekly.

It's changed to two scans since so booking in is earlier which might be why there's a bigger gap

The 24w appointment is only in first pregnancies, but you should have a 28w one i think? Which would be end of Feb? Can you ring the hospital triage number, explain the situation and ask if they can give you the number to contact the community midwives?

Sounds like they have booked you in the wrong month as 28 weeks would be about the start of March, not the start of April. I’d call them, just sounds like an error.

I’m in Scotland so might be a bit different but I’ve had a midwife appointment at 16 weeks, 22 weeks and then I think my next one at 28 weeks, plus obviously my two scans (12 and 20 weeks) and booking appointment at 9ish weeks. I’ve also got a direct number for the local community midwife office, plus a mobile number for my midwife (I see the same one each time and she’s been my midwife for all my pregnancies at my request). It is slightly fewer midwifery appointments after your first baby but I feel like this is about right and it sounds like I’ve had two more than you by 28ish weeks OP? I should add our area is considered ‘gold standard’ for midwifery services though so I know I am especially lucky and this standard isn’t normal! But 4 months sounds a very long time between appointments to me.

For us it's different for first pregnancy and subsequent pregnancies. You see a midwife a lot more with your first but any other pregnancies it's a lot less unless there is a particular reason

I think it’s early March at 28 weeks when you should be seen.

I saw my midwife at 16 weeks, then not again until 27/28 weeks. Last time I had a checkup at 24weeks too due to first pregnancy I think but not this time.
