Not needing to pee often

I'm 7 weeks gone, first pregnancy so still learning what's normal and not. I hear a lot of people saying that one of their first symptoms is needing to pee a lot, and a few people who are around about the same week as me needing to pee more often. Honestly, I don't need to pee much at all. Is this sometimes normal? I think I drink enough water, I suppose it wouldn't hurt to have more. My nausea has made me eating and drinking less because I'm scared it'll make me vomit and it makes me feel a bit more sick sometimes

I never had to go more frequently, even at 9 months. But do drink water, OP. Frequent sips if you can't stomach drinking a full glass/bottle.

My nausea was worse if my stomach was empty. Eat little and often.

Only happened to me after 6 months - I thought it was more to do with having a giant baby sat on my bladder once he'd grown bigger but that may be an old wives tale.

I could have written this post myself, I've been wondering the exact same thing! I'm 6 weeks 5 days and not having to go more often at all. Have nausea and just feeling off my food so struggling to eat decent food atm. Trying to drink enough but definitely could do better.

I didn't in the first trimester, it was more a second and third trimester thing when baby is growing and starts pressing down more on your bladder.

I think it can depend on whether the baby is pushing against your bladder.

@Shynslk I did need to pee more in the first trimester but think this was because I was consciously trying to drink more fluids and I felt quite thirsty. (I am one of those people who just forgets to drink unless it's with a meal, very hot outside, or I'm in the pub/coffee shop.) It's settled down a bit in my second trimester but expect to need to go more once my bladder gets a bit squashed!

In case it helps, I've found it difficult to keep water down but sparkling water is a lot easier to stomach, so I have half a glass of that and top it up with tap water. Makes it less likely to make me gassy and means a bottle goes further, but crucially doesn't taste or feel like water so it stays down. Keep telling myself it's healthier than Fanta (though not as nice 🥲).

I'm only just starting to go more regularly (like 3-4 times a night) at 31 weeks! Early on I didn't notice any change in my usual 'peeing pattern' haha but I have heard some other women say they did have to go more. Every pregnancy really is very different so try not to worry!! :)

Happened to me more when baby was pressing on bladder so a lot later

I've needed to go more including at night in the last couple of weeks from about 8 or 9 weeks. But some don't experience that at all!
