I'm gonna be for real, i'm terrified about the whole pregnancy thing, i'm only 19 will be 20 before baby is born but i don't know how to tell my mum! i feel like i will have disappointed her as she wants me to do everything the right way and have the best life!

She knew about my miscarriage previously and was very supportive and upset about it.

Any advice on how to tell her or just general?

  • Thank you

oh my gosh! i'm so happy for you! i pray that this is my mums reaction! how far along did you tell your mum? x

I was only 6 weeks when I told her, so was still 19 as well... I knew I'd want my mom during pregnancy and also thought it's best to tell her rather than leave it longer x

You are not the first and won't be the last.
When I had to break some difficult news to my parents at your age I was given the advice to first set out how you would like them to react.
mum, there's something I need to tell you. Please take a bit of time to digest the news and then we can talk. I know it's not ideal but I'm happy with the news. then tell her.
Unfortunately the decision was taken out of my hands and my Dr had to deliver the news as I became too unwell -I had anorexia and depression.

My auntie had her children at 18 and 19. She got married whilst pregnant with her first and recently celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary. She left her collage course whilst pregnant but got a job after her baby was born and has turned it into a successful career.
